Viral video: Benjamin Netanyahu says nothing will ‘deter’ him as drone attacks Israeli PM’s home

A video of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu went viral on Saturday after a drone attacked his home in the Mediterranean coastal town of Caesarea. Neither he nor his wife were home at the time of the attack.

In a video that went viral on Saturday, Netanyahu could be heard saying that nothing will deter him and that Israel will “win this war.” He said Israel killed Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar “two days ago.”

In a casual 22-second interview, Netanyahu was asked: “How’s it going?” He replied: “Two days ago we took out Yahya Sinwar, the terrorist mastermind whose henchmen beheaded men, raped our women and burned babies alive have. We have eliminated him and are continuing our fight with Iran’s other terrorist proxies.”

“We will win this war,” Netanyahu said, adding that nothing will stop him.

His statement came days after Israel claimed Sinwar’s death. Sinwar was the main architect of the Hamas attack on Israel in 2023, which killed about 1,200 people, mostly civilians, and kidnapped another 250. “While this is not the end of the war in Gaza, it is the beginning of the end,” Netanyahu said on October 18.

According to local health authorities, over 42,000 Palestinians have been killed in Israel’s retaliatory offensive in the Gaza Strip. Local health authorities do not distinguish between combatants and civilians but say more than half of the dead were women and children, the Associated Press news agency reported.

Drone attack on the Prime Minister’s house

The Israeli government said on Saturday that a drone had attacked Prime Minister Netanyahu’s home, although there were no injuries, as Iran’s supreme leader vowed that Hamas would end its fight after killing the mastermind of the deadly Oct. 7 attack will continue this year.

The drone strike was launched from Lebanon this morning, The Times of Israel reported on Saturday, citing the Israeli prime minister’s office.

In a statement, the Israeli prime minister’s office said Netanyahu and his wife Sara were not at home at the time of the attack and no injuries were reported in the incident.

Two more drones fired from Lebanon this morning were shot down by Israeli air defenses, triggering sirens in Tel Aviv, according to a Times of Israel report. Meanwhile, sirens are again sounding in several northern communities in Haifa Bay, warning of rocket fire from Lebanon.
