OzFaire exceeds expectations for its first year of operation

West Plains, MO. – West Plains’ first Renaissance Festival, OzFaire, took place this past weekend and organizers say it was a huge success.

Dalyn Bird, chairman of OzFaire, told Ozark Radio News that the number of participants was estimated at 500, but was shocked to find that the total attendance had tripled to nearly 1,500 people.

The weekend’s big attractions included tank metal fights, padded weapon fights, turkey legs, dramatic shows and an array of vendors.

The organization responsible for this event was AFK (Always a Future for Kids), which raises money through various events and donates that money to local nonprofits that give back to the youth of the Ozarks.

Bird went on to say that proceeds from this event will go towards supporting the children of the Ozarks.
