New on Hulu October 19-25: 5 new TV shows and movies to watch

Fittingly, as we approach October, there are a few picks that are perfect for the Halloween season, including a few newer horror films (one more hardcore, the other cheesy). There will also be a brand new documentary streaming, portraying one of the world’s biggest rock stars.

The Lego Batman Movie (2017)

An entertaining animated film for all ages will be streaming on Hulu starting October 19th

One of the breakout pieces (pun intended) from The Lego Movie was Will Arnett’s Lego Batman, so much so that he got his very own spin-off movie, and damn if The Lego Batman Movie isn’t one of the funniest Batman movies we’ve had in a long time. Arnett’s gravelly, gravelly-voiced crusader battles the Joker (voiced here by Zach Galifianakis) and a host of other supervillains in an animated film that’s fun and funny for all ages. Now that it’s on Hulu, it’s worth a look.

Late Night with the Devil (2023)

Add the horror film “Certified Fresh” to your Halloween watchlist starting October 19th

As Halloween approaches and you’re looking for new horror to add to your watchlist alongside the classics, Late Night with the Devil should be on your radar. The 2023 film stars David Dastmalchian as a late-night talk show host in the ’70s who tries to boost his ratings by having a girl who claims to be possessed by a demon. Even if it’s just meant for a little thing, it turns out to be all too real. The film is presented as a documentary/found footage to enhance the atmosphere. The critics liked it as the film is Certified Fresh with a very impressive score of 97% Rotten tomatoes.

Carved (2024)

The pumpkins fight back in this new original horror film from Hulu, premiering October 21st

If Late Night with the Devil is then too intense for your taste Carved could be a fun alternative. “Carved” is more of a mix of cheesy comedy and horror as it’s about a group of people who fall victim to pumpkins coming to life and decide to seek revenge after years of being chopped up as Halloween decorations. It sounds ridiculous and I’m absolutely thrilled to see it in all its cheesy glory.

Watch the final season of the acclaimed TV series on-demand on Hulu starting October 22nd

Keeping with the Halloween theme, one of the best TV shows is coming back What we do in the shadows Season 6 premieres on October 21st on FX and will then be available on Hulu on Steam on October 22nd. The series, which is a documentary about a group of ancient vampires living together in modern America, was nominated for an Emmy. There are plenty of best-of lists, but unfortunately it comes to an end with the sixth season. All previous seasons of the comedy are currently available on Hulu. Whether you want to rewatch the show or catch up, you can do so on Hulu this month.
