No. 7 Volleyball defeats Arkansas for Elliott’s 600th win at Texas

AUSTIN, Texas – No. 7 Texas Volleyball defeated head coach Arkansas 25-20, 25-17, 25-22 Jerritt Elliott picked up his 600Th Texas win in front of 4,648 spectators at Gregory Gymnasium on Friday.

The Longhorns (11-3, 6-0) picked up their eighth straight win and fifth straight.

Madisen Skinner led the way with 15 kills, hit .310 and added four digs and two blocks. Devin Kahahawai continued her breakout season, finishing with 13 kills and a .500 batting average with three aces and three blocks.

The Longhorns started well, winning the first set 25-20 while hitting .357 in the set. Texas dominated the first set at the service line and at the net with three service aces and four blocks. Skinner led the way with four kills on just five swings, while Wenaas had three kills on four attacks.

Texas didn’t let up in the second set with a 25-17 win and the team hit .484 in the set. Skinner continued her great match with six kills in the second set.

Arkansas put up a good fight in the third set and took a late lead 21-20. However, the Longhorns never panicked and closed the set with a 5-1 run for a 25-22 victory.

Texas continues its five-game home series against Georgia on Sunday at 1 p.m. at Gregory Gym.
