Final result Lakers vs. Warriors: Lakers defeated in preseason finale

*On the second night of their preseason finale, the Lakers sat with Anthony Davis, Rui Hachimura, LeBron James, D’Angelo Russell, Gabe Vincent, Austin Reaves, Max Christie and Dalton Knecht… playing like a team without eight of its nine best players , which clearly loses to the Warriors 132-74.

Quincy Olivari finished with 22 points, five rebounds and two assists. Bronny James Jr. started with 17 and four points bounces back in his best performance of the preseason. Jaxson Hayes had seven points.

Los Angeles started off well offensively considering the entire starting lineup was out for the game. They quickly gained a lead of four points. The Warriors responded with a six-point lead thanks to the efforts of Jonathan Kuminga and Andrew Wiggins.

Golden State took advantage of the Lakers giving their key players a break. The Warriors posted a 13-0 record and the young Lakers were struggling. At the end of the first period, LA trailed by 18 points.

Los Angeles’ problems continued into the second round as they trailed by 23 points. The Warriors took full advantage of the fact that LA didn’t have an AD on defense and had up to 28 points.

The rest of the half was a showcase for each young Laker to show what they could do. Olivari took full advantage of the extra playing time by scoring from behind the arc and making several layups. Bronny got in on the action by connecting on a 3-pointer and converting a floater. At halftime, LA was significantly behind with only 40 points scored and 66 goals conceded.

Bronny’s confident shooting continued well into the second half. After Olivari, he was the second player on the team to score in double figures. Reddish, who was struggling to make shots, finally drained a three-pointer.

The rest of the game played out as expected, with the young players looking to make the most of the valuable minutes available to them as they completed their pre-season. Unfortunately, apart from Olivari and Bronny, there were no real positive aspects.

Key Takeaways:

Whether the Lakers decide to free up a spot for Olivari or he finds a spot on another team, he has proven himself worthy of a permanent contract. He made excellent use of every opportunity that was given to him in the preseason.

Bronny made shots that he had missed quite a bit since Summer League. His confidence was at a high level.

The first game of the new season is Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. PT against the Minnesota Timberwolves.
