Dennis Grall of Escanaba has retired as secretary of the Upper Peninsula Sports Hall of Fame, ending a record-breaking 32-year tenure. Anne Okonek of Cornell will take his place. In 1992, Grall replaced Gil Heard of Marquette, the only other person to serve as the organization’s secretary. Grall was also the longtime sports editor of the Daily Press of Escanaba.
