No. 5 Arkansas Soccer beats No. 24 Texas on the road

The Arkansas football team erased a 2-1 deficit to defeat No. 24 Texas 4-3 on Friday night at Mike A. Myers Stadium in Austin, Texas.

Longhorns forward Holly Ward scored the first goal in the seventh minute, then Ava Tankersley equalized in the 15th minute.

Lexi Missimo gave Texas a 2-1 lead again in the 20th minute, but Arkansas (12-1-1, 7-1-0 SEC) had a different answer before halftime when Taylor Berman went without in the 45th minute Assist equalized.

Tankersley opened the second half with a goal in the 57th minute to give the Razorbacks a 3-2 lead, and Kate Doyle gave them a 4-2 lead with a goal in the 72nd minute.

Ashlyn Miller scored a goal in the 78th minute for the Longhorns (11-3-2, 4-3-1), but they were unable to equalize.

The Razorbacks outscored the Longhorns 19-18 and had a 14-10 advantage in shots on goal. Texas goalkeeper Mia Justus made 10 saves, while Arkansas’ Keegan Smith made six saves.
