Texas vs. Georgia: Fans from all over the country are looking forward to the top 5 duel

Sports fans across the country and state officials are preparing for Saturday’s game between Texas and Georgia.

It will be the first time since 2006 that Austin will host a top-five matchup in the regular season.

“It’s a huge game, people have been waiting for it all year. We’ve been waiting for this all year. We’re excited, I mean it’s just unreal. I’m excited,” Longhorns fan Dan Smith said.

Longhorns fans were preparing to see the undefeated team play the Bulldogs in the mega match. Many flew in because of this experience.

“I’m from Jersey, so we just flew over here to try to attract them,” Smith said.

“We pick one game every year. One against five is a huge game. We’re excited to come to Texas. Texas football is Texas football. It’s the epitome of college football,” Longhorns fan Nick Coughlin said.

The New Jersey group says it plans to purchase new equipment for game day.

“We are here in the team shop. We will think about how we will dress. Go get a hat, we have to wear orange tomorrow,” Coughlin said.

“This is a statewide thing, this is a citywide thing, this is a statewide thing,” Smith said.

Hundreds gathered at the governor’s mansion on Friday evening to celebrate before the big game.

“So what we did last weekend. We beat the hell out of OU,” Gov. Abbott said.

Several state officials were in attendance, including the governor of Georgia.

“Governor Kemp and I are friends first. We do gubernatorial duties together and have also done some sports activities together,” said Governor Abbott.

“I want to welcome you all to the SEC, where you are just a week away from your humiliation. We are very happy to be here. We look forward to tomorrow,” said Georgia Governor Brian Kemp.

Longhorns fans believe the team will continue its winning streak.

“I’m sure they’re feeling the pressure. I’m sure everyone in Texas feels that. I mean, you’re on a huge stage, you’re coming for Georgia, some people feel like they were snubbed last year. They should have been there.” “This is a chance for Texas to prove who they are,” Smith said.

The Longhorns host the Bulldogs on Saturday, October 19th at 6:30 p.m. at DKR
