Bronny James made his first preseason start for the Los Angeles Lakers on Friday evening in the away game against the Golden State Warriors.

The Lakers gave all five starters a break with LeBron James, Anthony Davis, Austin Reaves, Rui Hachimura and D’Angelo Russell. They also used a few backup players in Jarred Vanderbilt, Gabe Vincent, Max Christie and rookie Dalton Knecht who have rotation spots.

This gave players like James a great opportunity to develop, see more playing time on the field and become more prominent players on offense.

James definitely had his moments in this game, even though the Golden State Warriors rolled over LA that night. He got an early throw thanks to a Jalen Hood-Schifino feed.

James had struggled shooting in summer league and preseason before this game, but he performed well offensively on Friday as the lights shined on him. He scored his first three goals of the preseason, was more aggressive than usual and also proved efficient.

Fans were impressed with his efforts, while some also noted how difficult it is for James to get through his rookie year in front of so many spectators.
