Temporary ban on outdoor burning

The Lincoln Parish Fire Protection District No. 1 has issued an emergency order banning all outdoor burning, effective immediately. This burning ban is consistent with Lincoln Parish Police Jury Order No. 276-06-(1), which authorizes the commissioners of the Lincoln Parish Fire Protection District No. 1 to impose a temporary ban on outdoor burning in said district.

Due to the extremely dry conditions currently occurring in Lincoln Parish, rural areas, forests and forests are at risk of fire. Anyone found violating this ordinance shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and shall be punished by a fine not exceeding $500, plus all court costs, or by imprisonment not exceeding six months, or both.

This ban will remain in effect until lifted by the Commissioners of the Lincoln Parish Fire Protection District No. 1. Anyone with questions regarding this matter should contact this office at the number listed above.
