Mother-daughter duo raise money to fight cancer and provide resources through local nonprofits – 41NBC News

Operation Slay Cancer was founded in 2015 after Clarice Thomas was diagnosed with breast cancer. Thomas’ journey included chemotherapy, medication and a double mastectomy.

MACON, Ga. (41NBC/WMGT) – Operation Slay Cancer, a local nonprofit organization, is hosting the 9th annual Pink Soirée fundraiser to raise money for breast cancer.

Operation Slay Cancer was founded in 2015 after Clarice Thomas was diagnosed with breast cancer. Thomas’ journey included chemotherapy, medication and a double mastectomy.

Thomas’ daughter, Shania Chambliss, said watching her mother battle breast cancer ignited her passion to help all women affected by breast cancer.

Operation Slay Cancer is a faith-based nonprofit organization dedicated to helping women regain their confidence and begin their healing process through empowerment and beauty.

According to Shania Chambliss, founder and president of Operation Slay Cancer, the nonprofit organization offers Empowerment events, Self-help groupsAnd Care packages.

Operation Slay Cancer Week takes place October 20-27.
