Steam players warned they only had 48 hours left to secure hundreds of free downloads – Playstation

Thank you, next party

You know I hate to break you out of your huge backlog of games, but something wonderful is happening that you can’t dwell on for much longer.

Steam currently lets you download and play hundreds (and I mean hundreds) of unreleased games for free.

What kind of magic is this? How do you manage to break away from some of the absolute blasts you’re playing, so much so that you can even start to get frustrated with some of these games?

I can’t answer either question. All I can tell you is that you have until October 21st to secure this massive wealth of downloads, all available as part of Steam Next Fest 2024.

Steam Next Fest, if you’re new to this space, is a wonderful gaming week where various developers and publishers release free demos for their upcoming games, giving you a good chance to really jump in and see what’s in store for you major gaming obsession in 2025.

Include demos The invisible axisa massive Elder Scrolls-style monster hunting game, and Permafrostwhich is somewhere in between The Last of Us And Stand out with a survival twist.

This is really just the tip of the iceberg. There are open-world games, indies, adventure games, role-playing games, horror games, racing simulations and much more. My advice would be to download everything you can and make a plan to get through it all when you can.

There are so many games that you probably won’t see them all realistically. So just let your Steam algorithm do most of the work and look at the things you like visually. And remember: it ends on October 21st. At this point you will no longer be able to download most, if not all, demos.
