MTG X Marvel Crossover Reveals Details This Week

It’s no secret that Wizards of the Coast is starting to seriously push MTG crossovers with other intellectual properties. After the huge success of The Lord of the Rings: Tales of Middle-earth last year, the floodgates have been opened to repeat similar results. The next big crossover in the world of Magic is Marvel, and the superhero franchise is coming to our world sooner than we think.

While we haven’t heard much about MTG X Marvel aside from a massive unconfirmed leak, we’ll finally get the first real details of the crossover this week. MTG X Marvel is scheduled to be released on Friday.

MTG X Marvel at NYCC

Information about the set is expected to be announced at New York Comic Con on Friday, October 18th. We’re not entirely sure what this information will look like, but this is the first time we’re officially hearing about the huge MTG X Marvel crossover.

We expect the preview window to begin around 4:30 EST.

Among the possible things the presentation could bring, we expect at least an official release date for the larger MTG X Marvel collaboration. Considering that the leaked maps appeared to be secret hiding places, we might be able to find out more about these maps as well. Hopefully we could even see a few more MTG X Marvel spoilers. Of course, this information is not confirmed to appear during the presentation.

One thing that will almost certainly appear in this first MTG X Marvel presentation is some art from the set. This is usually one of the first things announced to the public when a new MTG set hits the internet.

While the official presentation has a date, there are likely to be more reveals at the Marvel booth during Comic Con. These should appear online and we’ll be sure to report back when we see what’s going on.

MTG X Marvel leak

There was recently a massive leak that appeared to reveal an upcoming Secret Lair for the MTG X Marvel crossover online. Since these could be counterfeits, we will not display the cards in this article. Instead, we’re talking about the leak here.

Despite the possibility that this leak is fake, the overwhelming majority of feedback seems to disagree. These cards seem far too polished to be anything other than the original. The leak reveals a first look at mechanically unique cards depicting Wolverine, Black Panther, Iron Man and Captain America.

Since this may be a Secret Lair, there is a non-zero chance that this Secret Lair will be available for sale at New York Comi Con itself. Larger Comic-Con events regularly feature exclusive TCG items that can’t be found anywhere else. A good example is the San Diego Comic Con exclusive flip walkers, which are almost entirely black. Due to their exclusivity, they retail for a pretty penny.
