Tyra Banks says the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show was “different” this time as she was “40-50 pounds” heavier

When it comes to owning the runway, Tyra Banks has it all figured out.

In a preview clip for an upcoming episode of “The Drew Barrymore Show,” the now-retired supermodel, 50, discussed her epic return to the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show on Tuesday and explained why the appearance was so different than previous years.

“When I walked the Victoria’s Secret runway this time, I felt like everyone was inside me,” said Banks, who retired from modeling in 2005. “50-year-old women, insecure women – I just felt like there was more, and when I watch the playback I’m like, boom, boom, boom. I stomped because I felt like I was a vessel, more than just me. It was different.

“What was also different is that my breasts were about 10 times bigger because I was about 40 to 50 pounds heavier on that runway than when I retired,” she says. “So I thought, ‘Don’t fall out, don’t fall out.'”

In September, Banks admitted that she “never thought” she would return to the Victoria’s Secret runway.

“It feels crazy to be back on the Victoria’s Secret runway,” Banks said in a shared Instagram post. “I mean ‘cray cray,’ as in ‘cray cray good.’ To be honest, I never thought I would be on that runway again.

In a recent interview with Harper’s Bazaar, Banks talked about breaking stereotypes when it comes to modeling.

“I think the world has changed to realize that as women we don’t have to be a stereotype and fit into a mold,” she explained. “And so I’m very excited and happy to come back and celebrate myself and not feel like I have to cut a piece to be taken seriously.”
