Holland has finally come clean about admitting that he knew Robert Downey Jr. would be returning to the MCU franchise as Doctor Doom long before it was announced to the world during Marvel’s Hall H panel at San Diego Comic-Con 2024. Holland was so determined to reverse his infamous reputation as a betrayer of MCU secrets by claiming, “I haven’t done any press for strategic reasons” since he found out that RDJ would be the MCU’s downfall.

In his full breakdown of the situation during the Rich role In the podcast, Tom Holland revealed: “I spoke to him [Robert Downey Jr.] a lot, especially about the fact that he made his [Marvel] Returning, which is super exciting.”
