An arrest in a home invasion in Ponchatoula | Crime/Police

A man has been arrested on multiple charges in connection with an August home invasion in the Ponchatoula area, authorities said. Two other suspects remain at large.

Tydarius Rico Andrews, 23, was booked into the Tangipahoa Parish Jail on Wednesday on charges including home invasion, armed robbery, second-degree kidnapping and first-degree attempted rape, the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office said in a news release Friday.

Authorities said Andrews was one of three masked men who allegedly entered a home in the Blythewood Subdivision around 12:20 a.m. Aug. 25. They held residents at gunpoint and stole money and other items. The suspects left the neighborhood in a gray or white Nissan Altima, the sheriff’s office said.

An arrest warrant was issued for Andrews after he was identified as one of the suspects, and Hammond police took him into custody, the sheriff’s office said.

The other suspects remain at large and the sheriff’s office has asked for the public’s help in identifying them. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Tangipahoa Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Bureau at 985-902-2017.
