City Hosts Free Online Seminar on Rental Laws and Regulations – Pasadena Now

In a city where about half the population rents their homes, understanding the intricacies of tenant-landlord relationships can be crucial. To address this need, Pasadena officials are offering a free, two-hour virtual workshop on rental laws and regulations.

The training is aimed at both tenants and landlords.

The training is hosted by the city’s Rent Stabilization Department and will take place via Zoom on Wednesday, October 23, from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Participation is free and open to the public.

The session will include two key presentations: a tenant and landlord legal training session hosted by the Los Angeles County Department of Consumer and Business Affairs, and “Pasadena Rent Stabilization 101 Basics,” presented by Helen Morales, director of the Pasadena Rent Stabilization Department.

The goal of this training is to provide participants with a basic knowledge of local rental laws, including the petition process, statutory rent increases, and other important aspects of the rent stabilization ordinance. Whilst the session is intended to inform participants and is not a substitute for professional legal advice, it does provide valuable free guidance from experts to help tenants and landlords realize their rights and responsibilities.

Attendees can expect insights from both the LA County Department of Consumer and Business Affairs and Pasadena’s Rent Stabilization Director on the latest rental regulations.

The training will be conducted online via Zoom and Spanish language interpretation will be available for this online workshop.
