Serious decline in injuries for players after departure from Tottenham – success now halted by a long break

Giovani Lo Celos has suffered a serious injury setback months after leaving Tottenham, with the Real Betis player set to be sidelined for an extended period.

This is according to Estadio Deportivo, which reports that the Argentine midfielder is expected to be out for four to six weeks.

Lo Celso has shone at Betis since returning from Tottenham in the summer after his miserable four-year spell at the club since moving from Betis in July 2020.

He quickly returned to top performance under Manuel Pellegrini, with five goals in six league games so far and clear star status.

However, he has now suffered a “very serious setback” and will be sidelined for four to six weeks. This is a big problem for Betis, who have no direct replacement for him.

Injuries and a lack of movement in the window have left the Spanish club sidelined and Pellegrini will have to shuffle his squad to try and replace the former Tottenham man.

However, the reality is that Lo Celso will be difficult to replace after he returned to Betis in the summer and hit the ground running.

His injury is a huge blow for him and Betis, who both seem to have found happiness together but now have to spend some time apart.
