overview

From the bestselling author of Wonder, the book that launched the Choose Art movement, comes the inspiring next chapter. In “White Bird,” we follow Julian (Bryce Gheisar) as he struggles to fit in since being expelled from his previous school for his treatment of Auggie Pullman. To change his life, Julian’s grandmother (Helen Mirren) eventually tells Julian her own courageous story – during her youth in Nazi-occupied France, a boy protected her from deadly danger.

They find their first love in a breathtaking, magical world of their own making, while the boy’s mother (Gillian Anderson) risks everything to protect them. From director Marc Forster (“Finding Neverland” and “Christopher Robin”), screenwriter Mark Bomback and based on RJ Palacio’s book “White Bird: A Wonder Story,” like “Wonder” before it, is an uplifting film about how an act of Kindness can live on forever.

After Steck fell to his death while acclimatizing on Mount Nuptse, his friend and climbing partner Sherpa Tenji took over the task to try to finish what his mentor had started – documented in VR.
