October summer return to Texas; Also some storm chances

Most of Texas will experience warmer, drier weather this weekend. We will see isolated thunderstorms throughout the Borderland, Trans-Pecos, West Texas and the Texas Panhandle tonight, Saturday, Sunday and early Monday. A few storms in western parts of the Panhandle, West Texas and along the Texas-New Mexico border could be severe Saturday evening. Hail, strong winds and even a tornado cannot be ruled out. The likelihood of severe storms is higher further west in New Mexico. A few storms are also possible in the Rio Grande Valley and the Lower Texas Gulf Coast over the weekend and Monday.

A high wildfire threat is forecast across Texas this weekend as fuels have hardened due to drought, temperatures are rising and the air mass is dry.
