Unless you’re taking an international flight, most of your travel time will be spent at the airport rather than in the air. It’s recommended to arrive two hours before your flight’s departure time to allow for delays – mostly for safety reasons – and I don’t know about you, but those two hours usually feel more like five. It’s tiring and can easily make traveling feel like more hassle than it’s worth. But what if you could significantly reduce that time by simply being smart about what you wear to the airport? Would you do it? I know I would.

Zoe Saldaña is also on board. For her recent trip to New York City, the actress designed a sleek and sophisticated travel look that was still comfortable and, more importantly, TSA friendly. As she entered the baggage claim area, she was seen wearing a black cardigan and casual jeans under a nearly floor-length, espresso-colored coat. To the ensemble, she added a newsboy cap, sunglasses and a Saint Laurent Bea bag, the perfect size of a “personal item.” But the winner of her outfit? Well, that could only be her soft leather loafers, also from Saint Laurent, which undoubtedly made safety a breeze. No wonder they are almost sold out.

Unlike some other celebrities who show up in the departure area in stilettos, lace-up boots, or the wildest pair of pantaleggings I’ve ever seen (I’m looking at you, Posh), Saldaña understands the great benefits that come with wearing smart and elegant shoes at a strategic airport -Dressing.
