  • Teraleak Reveals Scrapped Pokémon Critters, Prototypes, and Future Releases.
  • Unfortunately, over 2,000 Game Freak employee information was also leaked.
  • Revealed Generation 3 Pokémon such as Monorabi and Warabitto with unique backstories.

Game Freak has been hit by a massive leak that reveals a massive amount of information about the game Pokemon Franchise. This information explosion, nicknamed “Teraleak,” has revealed, among other things, a wealth of details related to the scrapping Pokemon living beings.

The Pokemon The series’ major leaks have resulted in a seemingly endless wealth of development information for past and upcoming games, including unreleased Pokémon, future releases, prototypes, and scrapped character biographies. In connection with the last category, a scrapped lore story about Typhlosion in particular exploded – its content is similar to the creepypastas about Hypno or Drifloon. Game Freak has now issued a statement about the leaks, saying that in addition to franchise information, 2,000 employee information was unfortunately made public. Game Freak apologized for the oversight and said it would contact affected employees where possible.

All scrapped Pokémon revealed via Game Freaks Teraleak

In addition to the leaked upcoming Pokémon and prototype Pokémon, a whole host of scrapped Pokémon have also been discovered. These unused Pokémon were collected by u/vagrantwade in the r/PokeLeaks Beta Leaks Megathread. In this post you will find the Gen 3 Prototypes spreadsheet (originally compiled by The Cutting Room Floor), which shows all of the lost Pokémon that have been unearthed. Most fall into two broad categories: orange (which were probably scrapped before February 2002) and pink (which were probably scrapped after March 2002). Accurate data is extremely fuzzy, so these benchmarks should not be taken as gospel.

Orange category Pokémon

  • BoyattoBii
  • Toroiika
  • Nobinyobi
  • Monorabi
  • Stamboo
  • Rikugin
  • Aarei
  • Keromeelo
  • Poochi
  • Kujatta
  • Pen
  • Lilibra
  • Hakkeyou
  • Pyokko
  • Ninfu
  • Kajitto
  • Raiou
  • Berumuusu
  • Hipo
  • Charmin
  • Snomen
  • Bonbongo
  • Shiomagune
  • Torchin
  • Ponku
  • Tanpu
  • Paootsu
  • Suiba
  • Shaboo
  • Panpamu
  • Hakogame
  • Togepyon
  • Zuruuzu
  • Aidog
  • Weathery
  • Tinkii
  • Snowrora
  • Yaccoko
  • Itoton
  • Heppii
  • Supanku
  • Kurumi
  • SanSan
  • Zaazaa
  • Googoo

Orange is certainly the largest category of unreleased Pokemon found in the leaks. Many of these creatures have names that have not undergone the changes that most Pokémon receive, primarily because each name barely deviates from the original Japanese name. An example of this in these leaks is the Pokémon Wailmer, which was once called “Hoeruko”.

As with other Pokémon leaks, small details came to light just as quickly as the big ones. Many Pokémon listed contain developer notes, many of which provide evidence as to why these Pokémon were ultimately left behind. The bug-like Bii that was supposedly replaced by Wingull bears the note “I would change colors” – which is consistent with the change to Wingull, another flying Pokémon but with a different color scheme. Some Pokémon, such as Sudowoodo and Keromeelo, were considered too similar to other Pokémon, while others received more lukewarm comments such as Rikugin’s “I like the idea, but…”.

Monorabi, a Pokemon that looks like Eevee is a Fire-type, received one of the least flattering reviews, a simple note saying “Looks deformed.” Like other Orange Category Pokémon, all of which were reportedly retired before February 2002, Monorabi contains very little detail in its bio – while some Pink Category Pokémon contain small stories.

Warabitto, the scrapped starter Pokémon

Starter Pokémon are some of the most recognizable of their respective generations, but some are left behind. One example shown in the document is the Pokémon Warabitto, a rabbit-like creature that carries a lifebuoy and was once destined to be a Gen 3 starter.

Based on the concept art that originally depicted Warabitto, fans were able to deduce that the rabbit was once intended to be the Water-type starter. This means that Warabitto has been replaced by the popular Pokémon Mudkip, although many fans apparently wouldn’t mind a Warabitto comeback as the water rabbit is quickly receiving its share of fanart.

Pink category Pokémon

  • Tottaa
  • Makkii
  • Biskyal
  • Kanbok
  • Komari
  • Kodomon
  • Mossmy
  • Shakokaku
  • Furapooto
  • Otoma
  • Puruun
  • Evolotto
  • Uulon
  • Archeon
  • Yuu-uu

Pink category creatures have come further than other Pokémon in the leak, but will likely never see the light of day. Still, the fact that these Pokémon have come a little further than the ones in orange means that they have more stories to offer. Archeon, for example, has a number of “indecisive” comments about its features, namely that “its scales have formed into wings” and that “it has not changed its appearance since the age of dinosaurs.” In fact, other notes in the spreadsheet refer to it as a “living fossil,” with feathery scales strong enough to cut iron.

Uulon is another Pokémon with an extensive backstory and numerous descriptions of its nomadic nature. Puruun is similar, with lots of details about his diet and love of flying. Evolotto is a strange case in this regard, as much of the lore surrounding this canceled Pokémon relates to its ability to evolve into any Pokémon it chooses – a trait almost comparable to Ditto’s core abilities. However, the “Unconfirmed” section of the notes suggests that it evolves through “transformation” and into “various” different Pokémon, further confusing the true nature of its concept.

Still, as with other parts of these Pokémon leaks, some scrapped Pokémon in the Pink category have come with criticism. Some of these are criticisms related to Pokémon that resemble their counterparts too much, such as Otoma’s comment “I want it to be less like Poliwag.” More humorous is Kodomon, which says “Looks like Dragon Quest” is labeled, which could refer to his smiling face and large eyes, which actually resemble Dragon Quest’s famous slimes.
