Miami vs Louisville football match prediction, selection, spread, odds, where to watch, TV channel, live stream

One of the biggest games on the 2024 ACC schedule comes Saturday as No. 6 Miami appears to remain undefeated in a difficult road game at Louisville. The Hurricanes enter the game with a bye after coming up short against Virginia Tech (38-34) and Cal (39-38). Now they have the opportunity to make a statement on a big stage in the second half of their program.

For Louisville, the game represents a chance to take a big step forward in the ACC title race after finishing second in the conference a year ago. The Cardinals still have games at Clemson and a conference final against undefeated Pitt in November to negotiate, so a win in that game (and the advantage in the head-to-head tiebreaker) would significantly boost their chances.

Although Miami holds an 11-4-1 edge in the all-time series, Louisville has won four of the last six meetings, including a 38-31 thriller at Hard Rock Stadium last season.

Miami vs. Louisville: Need to know

Cam Ward puts together an all-time season for Miami QBs: With 437 passing yards in the win over Cal, Hurricanes quarterback Cam Ward became the first player in program history to open his Miami career with six consecutive 300-yard passing games. His 20 passing touchdowns also rank first nationally. He has scored a total of three or more touchdowns in each game, and his efforts have helped the offense produce a whopping 583.8 yards per game, which ranks No. 1 in the country. Miami is also No. 1 in the FBS in plays of 20 or more yards with 53 this season. All of this has contributed to Ward earning odds of over 900 to win the Heisman Trophy, according to BetMGM.

Louisville has found a star rookie in Isaac Brown: After two losses to two talented running backs in the NFL, Louisville has found another star in true freshman Isaac Brown, who currently leads all true freshmen with 508 yards rushing this season. The reigning ACC Rookie of the Week had 146 yards and two touchdowns on just 20 carries in last week’s win over Virginia. His totals put him on pace to surpass Lamar Jackson (2015) for the best single-season rushing performances by a true freshman in program history. Brown also ranks seventh nationally with 8.6 yards per carry.

Hurricanes devastate defenses: Miami’s defense was excellent at making big plays. The Hurricanes rank seventh nationally in sacks per game (3.33), 12th in tackles for loss per game (7.8) and fifth in interceptions (10). Entering Week 8, Miami is one of just six teams ranked in the top 15 in both total offense (No. 1) and total defense (No. 14). The other teams on this list are all title contenders, including Texas, Indiana, Ohio State, Tennessee and Penn State.

Miami vs. Louisville Prediction, Tips

I think last year’s meeting between these two says a lot about the showdown on the big stage this Saturday, even with so many key players swapped. Jeff Brohm is an excellent game planner who can make explosive plays. While Miami’s defense can be disruptive, this group has also missed out on individual plays in recent weeks. This has all the makings of a track and field meet where the last possession counts. Your best play on sports betting apps is to attack the total. Selection: Over 61.5
