WHAT HAPPENS AT THE BELL CENTER

Want to keep track of all the Habs games this season? Well, you’re in luck! It’s Calendar Night presented by Mitsubishi Electric. So be there on time: the first 10,000 fans in the Bell Center will receive a desk calendar.

TEAM COMPARISON

The Habs are coming off a 6-3 loss to the Penguins at the Bell Center on Thanksgiving Monday. Montreal overcame a two-goal deficit to lead 3-2 in the second period on goals from Kaiden Guhle, Juraj Slafkovsky and Emil Heineman, but the Penguins regained control of the game with four goals. Samuel Montembeault finished the night with 25 saves.

Meanwhile, the Kings lost 6-2 to the Toronto Maple Leafs at Scotiabank Arena on Wednesday. The Leafs held a 5-0 lead before Alex Turcotte and Kevin Fiala scored. John Tavares scored the Leafs’ sixth goal of the game. David Rittich, who was substituted after allowing four goals on 14 shots, was replaced by Pheonix Copley. In total, both goalkeepers made 20 saves. It was LA’s third straight loss and first regular season loss of the season. The Kings (1-1-2) began their regular season on the East Coast with games in Buffalo, Boston, Ottawa and Toronto and will complete the eastern portion of their stay in Montreal before traveling back west for games in Anaheim and Las Vegas. Fans will recognize Phillip Danault as the Victoriaville, QC native who played just over five seasons with the Habs. The Kings announced on October 16 that Joel Edmundson, who spent three seasons in Montreal, was named a non-roster player. Therefore, it is not expected that he will play against his former team.

BY THE NUMBERS: MTL-LAK

The Canadiens will look to turn things around against the Kings, as the club’s last win against Pacific Division opponents dates back to November 9, 2019. Only three players from that Habs team are still with the Canadiens: Joel Armia, Brendan Gallagher and Nick Suzuki. In the last 10 meetings between the two teams, the Kings have retained the upper hand with eight wins.

Here’s how the Kings and Canadiens match up in numbers:
