The best shoe trends at Shanghai Fashion Week SS25

Shanghai Fashion Week was once again home to many emerging talents pushing the boundaries of fashion, which was reflected in the audience as showgoers wore a wide range of footwear. Hypebeast set out to not only capture the best street style moments, but also highlight shoe trends from the crowd.

As you browse through the curated selection of photos, several things immediately stand out, including the fact that it reflects PUMA’s growing prominence in Shanghai. While the resurgence of the PUMA Speedcat OG was welcomed, we also noticed some of the brand’s bolder looks, like A$AP Rocky’s 3D printed version of the Mostro and Ottolinger’s gold Mostro boots. Wild boots continued to attract attention with a variety of styles, including a retro-inspired design from local footwear brand 27QUAI GROSMOTT, which also appeared with its hybrid sneaker-heel model.

As you’d expect, showgoers embraced designer pairings of all kinds — from collaborations like Cecilie Bahnsen’s ASICS GEL-QUANTUM VIII to Rick Owens’ popular Vans-like vintage sneakers. As usual, Balenciaga’s groundbreaking creations took center stage, while Kiko Kostadinov’s continued collaboration with ASICS was celebrated with the appearance of the NOVALIS GEL-STYRAX. Miu Miu x New Balance was presented in a subtle way, while a proud owner of the 2017 COMME des GARÇONS x Nike Air Force 1, decorated with a dinosaur shape by American artist Scott Hove, made the sneaker stand out.
