NASCAR: Rackley WAR confirms full-time driver contract for 2025

Dawson Sutton, a promising young driver at just 18 years old, has secured a full-time driving contract with Rackley WAR for the upcoming 2025 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series. The announcement came amid great excitement at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

As he prepares to represent Rackley WAR, Sutton will be the driver of the No. 26 car sponsored by Rackley Roofing and WAR Shocks and will compete in the full 25-race program starting at the famed Daytona International Speedway.

The Tennessee-based team competed in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series in 2021. The team, co-owned by Curtis Sutton, also known for Rackley Roofing, Inc., and Willie Allen of Willie Allen Racing and WAR Shocks, LLC, has achieved a remarkable benchmark of performance and growth within the series. The team has successfully integrated experienced drivers such as William Byron and Matt DiBenedetto, with the latter making a memorable mark by securing Rackley WAR’s first Truck Series victory at Talladega and securing a spot in the playoffs.

Sutton’s rise to this point in his career was accelerated by his ventures in US Legends, Pro and Super Late Models, ultimately making his NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series debut early in the 2024 season. When Sutton climbed into the No. 25 Rackley Roofing Chevrolet during the second half of the season following Ty Dillon’s move into the coaching role, he attracted attention by posting a top-five finish at Kansas Speedway.

When discussing his recent successes, Dawson Sutton shared in a team press release:

“This is truly a phenomenal opportunity. I dreamed of this day and my goal is to get to the NASCAR Cup Series, which represents the best of the best. It’s all a bit hard to believe at the moment, but I know. “I have a big job to do and that’s exactly how I see it.”

Curtis Sutton points out the emotional resonance associated with his son’s success in racing:

“Racing is not just a business, it is certainly a family. Whether blood or not, it’s a family. But if it’s blood and the family does 50 or more races together a year, I’m not going to lie – it’s special.”

Willie Allen also commented on the signing:

“I really don’t think there’s anything he can’t do. He has a great work ethic; he doesn’t take any of it for granted. He works hard to do his best, no matter the situation.”

“When we started this three years ago, I specifically told him that he had three years to prove himself. He took this to heart and put in the work to improve his skills. I couldn’t teach him how to race. “I trusted him with the best I knew” by Willie Allen, Ron, Candice Hornaday and Joe Ryan to help me figure out if he really could do it.
