UAA men placed 4th in the GNAC, opened Oct. 25

PORTLAND, Ore. (Oct. 17) – Looking to carry momentum from last spring’s NCAA Tournament, the Alaska Anchorage men’s basketball team was ranked fourth in the Great Northwest Athletic Conference’s annual preseason coaches poll released Thursday .

With a record of 22-11 and a playoff spot, the Seawolves return five letterwinners from last season, including starters Dillon Barrientos (Sr., PG, 11.1 ppg, 3.1 rpg, 1.2 spg, .345 3FG) and Sloan Lentfer (4.9 ppg, 3.6 rpg, .519 FG).

Defending GNAC Tournament champion Central Washington was selected to win the league. He received 90 points and four of the 10 first-place votes, while defending regular-season champion Montana State Billings earned 85 points and finished second in the poll. UAA and Saint Martin’s are tied for fourth place with 69 points, followed by Northwest Nazarene (70) in third place.
