Warming trend underway. High temperatures near average on Friday.

With frost and freeze conditions in most areas Thursday morning, the National Weather Service has suspended freeze warnings and freeze warnings for the season. There could be some frost again overnight into Friday morning. Low temperatures will fall into the mid 30s.

It continues with sunny skies and a warmer trendy Friday. Afternoon temperatures in the mid to upper 60s will feel quite comfortable with bright conditions and light winds.

Dry weather is expected to continue throughout most of the 7-day forecast. This is not good news. The latest drought monitor shows moderate drought extending south across the state. A rainfall deficit of more than 3 inches since September 1 puts Indy firmly in the “abnormally dry” category.
