Data from the National Testing Agency shows that around 11 lakh candidates registered for the UGC NET exam in June 2024, although only around 9 lakh actually sat for the exam, reflecting a slight decline in participation. This examination is critical in determining eligibility for an Assistant Professorship and Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) at higher education institutions across the country.

• Unanswered questions, unanswered questions, or questions marked for review will not receive a rating.

The UGC NET June exams were held from August 21 to September 4, 2024 in two shifts: Shift 1 from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and Shift 2 from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. The Computer Based Test (CBT) was carried out over several days in order to accommodate the large number of participants.

Previously, the NTA had released the provisional answer key for all exam dates in September 2024. Candidates had until September to raise objections to this provisional key.
