ChatGPT Windows app download is here, says OpenAI • iPhone in Canada blog

OpenAI has released an early version of its ChatGPT desktop app for Windows, now available for ChatGPT Plus, Enterprise, Team and Edu users. Surprisingly, despite Microsoft’s support, ChatGPT for Mac was launched in June before this Windows app.

The app’s goal is to increase productivity through faster access and new features. Full release to all users is expected later this year.

Windows users can quickly launch ChatGPT using the Alt + Spacebar keyboard shortcut, allowing instant access to it alongside other open apps. The new desktop version supports file and photo uploads, allowing users to summarize and analyze documents directly in chat.

This release also brings the latest model improvements, including access to OpenAI’s o1 preview model, designed to enable smarter and more responsive interactions.

Key features of the ChatGPT Windows app include:
