After the first photos two weeks ago, there is now the first trailer for Joe and Anthony Russo’s new Netflix film “The Electric State”, which will be released next year.

Millie Bobbie Brown, Chris Pratt, Ke Huy Quan, Giancarlo Esposito, Anthony Mackie, Stanley Tucci, Jason Alexander, Brian Cox and Jenny Slate star in the coming-of-age sci-fi western story set in a retro futuristic alternative 1990s style plays.

Brown plays an orphaned teenager who crosses the American West in search of her younger brother with her robot friend and Keats (Pratt), an eccentric drifter and veteran of the robot-human war.

The project is based on the acclaimed graphic novel by Simon Stalenhag. Filmed in October 2022, concluded in February 2023, with further reshoots taking place in March and April this year.

The film reportedly cost around $320 million to produce, and rumor has it that budget constraints are one of the reasons why Netflix reevaluated its film division and hired Dan Lin to replace Scott Stuber as film head.

“The Electric State” is scheduled to air on the service on March 14.
