If you’ve ever found driving in Texas painful, you may have a good reason.

Texas is the 10th worst state to drive in, according to a new report from MoneyGeek. The analysis assessed driving in all 50 states based on a combination of traffic, transportation costs, safety, road infrastructure and weather. The report analyzed data from the Federal Highway Administration, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the U.S. Census Bureau, the FBI and others.

Texas ranks 12th nationally for worst congestion and 16th for worst safety. Analysts looked at average morning commute times and miles traveled per lane mile to gauge congestion. The report examined fatal crashes per 100,000 people and car thefts per 100,000 vehicles to assess safety.

Texas ranked 24th for worst infrastructure, 26th for worst costs and 28th for worst weather. The cost category includes factors such as gasoline prices, annual vehicle maintenance costs, toll costs, and average insurance premiums. To classify the weather, analysts looked at the number of roads and bridges that were in acceptable condition for the infrastructure category, as well as the number of fatal accidents per 100,000 people in both snow and rain.

According to AAA, Texas does well when it comes to fuel costs, with a national average of $2.817 per gallon for regular unleaded gasoline. That’s fourth place behind only Georgia, Mississippi and Oklahoma. According to AAA, California has the highest fuel prices in the country at $4,672 per gallon for regular unleaded gasoline.
