Caught offside: Arteta wants De Ketelaere at Arsenal

Charles De Ketelaere has certainly revived his career following his move to Atalanta from AC Milan and is attracting interest from Arsenal and other Premier League clubs, according to a report.

According to reports from CaughtOffside, Arsenal are one of several clubs keeping an eye on De Ketelaere as he rejuvenates himself since swapping the red and black for black and blue last summer.

Arsenal head coach Mikel Arteta is “a huge admirer of De Ketelaere”, while other teams such as Manchester City, Tottenham, Newcastle United and West Ham “have also watched the 23-year-old during his time at La Dea”.

There have been no overtures from these clubs so far, but the Gunners will decide internally whether to launch a move for De Ketelaere or Georgiy Sudakov, who is also a target for the creative midfielder role.

West Ham “could be a surprising name to keep an eye on” when it comes to the Belgian as they view him as a possible replacement for Lucas Paqueta or Mohammed Kudus if they are forced to sell one or both.

What does this mean for Milan? Well, aside from seeing a talent blossom that they spent over €30 million on, multiple sources have claimed that the club secured a resale clause of 10% This means they would receive this amount from any future proceeds from a sale.

However, there have also been reports claiming that De Ketelaere’s move is not yet final and that he will be next year for accounting reasons.
