Free legal clinics in Boise, Meridian available to low-income residents next week • Idaho Capital Sun

The Idaho legal community is hosting a week of free clinics aimed at providing legal services to low-income or at-risk individuals.

Pro Bono Week takes place from October 20th to 26th and serves this purpose “Honor the work of those who provide pro bono legal services to meet the need for civil legal assistance in matters of the utmost urgency, and remind all lawyers of their responsibility to help fulfill the legal profession’s sacred commitment to equal justice before the law, ” according to a resolution published by the Idaho Pro Bono Commission.

You will receive exact location information when registering. Interested participants will be asked to provide income information to confirm their eligibility.

When: Oct. 22, 5 p.m
What: The monthly Idaho Volunteer Lawyers Program hosts a library clinic in Meridian for people facing a civil legal matter.

When: 4:30 p.m., October 23rd
What: The Association of Corporate Counsel will establish a legal clinic for people seeking advice on civil law matters such as divorce and custody, contractual matters, housing and finances. The event will take place in Boise, but a Zoom option is available.

When: 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., October 24th
What: The Idaho Military Legal Alliance will hold its quarterly wills clinic in Boise to help military members plan for the end of their lives.

When: 9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., October 25th
What: Rachel Murphy and Shaila Buckley will run a clinic for people who need help with simple wills, financial powers of attorney and advanced care documents.
