The open-world teaser for The Witcher Remake excites fans more than ever – news

It’s no secret that development on the next main installment in The Witcher series is in full swing.

Colloquially referred to as The Witcher 4The game will start a brand new trilogy and star a new protagonist.

We don’t know whether that means a completely new character or the promotion of an existing supporting character like Ciri.

As the post-launch content is now largely complete Cyberpunk 2077Developers have changed The Witcher 4 from pre-production to full development.

It’s far from the only Witcher project in the works.

You may remember that a remake of the original was announced in 2022.

Very little has been revealed about the project, but we do know that the game will be rebuilt in Unreal Engine 5

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt looks stunning after upgrading to the new generation. Check out the game in action below.

“We are very pleased to announce this The Witcher remake we’re working on it! “That’s right, the game that started it all is being rebuilt from the ground up in Unreal Engine 5,” it said in a statement.

“The game is currently in early development by the Polish studio Fool’s Theory, which includes experienced staff from the Witcher series. We as CD PROJEKT RED ensure complete creative support.”

CD Projekt RED later confirmed that the remake would be entirely open-world, meaning players would be able to freely explore Vizima – a tidbit that has caused a lot of excitement.

“Yay! This is exactly what I wanted from this remake,” wrote Reddit user foobarhouse.

“Man, if they don’t screw it up, it could be one of the best remakes in a long time,” TheRaptor678 added.

“Impressive. So it will be a completely new game rather than a purely graphical and gameplay remake,” commented TammyShehole.

Unfortunately, we are probably still many, many years away from launch, so patience is required.
