Originally in Spanish, the alleged 23-second WhatsApp voice memo was first posted by Lorem Ipsum (@altashanta) on social media platform X and garnered attention online. The English translation is: “Yes, he’s dead. The man, he’s dead. Some say he passed out in the lobby (of the hotel). They took him back to his room and he acted kind of crazy and jumped up. He jumped. He was completely exhausted (on drugs).”

The cleaning lady, called Catia, further mentioned that she cleaned his room on Wednesday and that during that time Liam Payne allegedly “did drugs in front of her” and “apologized for the mess.”

The original post, which quickly went viral, has received over 10.6 million views, 4,500 reposts, 64,000 likes and 520 comments at the time of writing.
