Outside (2024) – Review | Netflix zombie drama

A universal story

I liked the story of Outside could take place anywhere in the world. Sure, we are in the Philippines and the weather is extremely hot. Otherwise we might as well have been in the Midwest or rural England.

With that in mind, there is nothing that should stop you from fully immersing yourself. And in this zombie horror drama, the story draws you in and makes you suffer right alongside the characters.

At times it feels like a zombie horror drama in the style of Dealing with the undead. However, the pace also increases significantly as the family is confronted with it many Zombies in various situations throughout history.

A new kind of zombie Outside

Something I liked about the zombies Outside was that they had a new property. Oh yes, in this film the zombies can talk only Say whatever her last words were over and over again. For some it is simply the word “Excuse”, for others it is “Passport please”.

It’s a small detail, but one that becomes frightening when a new creature with black eyes approaches you and repeats its last words (or a single word) incessantly. Maybe it doesn’t sound so fascinating, but it really is.

Especially if the person speaking to you (or at You!) is someone you knew before they turned!
