SANTA CLARA – The 49ers are battling multiple injuries as they prepare for Sunday’s visit to Levi’s Stadium by the Kansas City Chiefs.

Perhaps the most glaring issue in San Francisco is that both kickers on the 53-man roster did not practice Wednesday because of injuries. Jake Moody is still out with a high ankle sprain, but was seen watching practice without any brace. Matthew Wright, who suffered a shoulder injury in the 49ers’ 36-24 win over the Seahawks last week, was not seen on the practice field.

San Francisco’s third option at kicker – Anders Carlson, who was signed to the practice squad on Tuesday – was on the field practicing in her place.

Ricky Pearsall’s return to the field may not be in the cards yet after his practice window only opened on Monday, but the 49ers may need their rookie wide receiver. That’s because veteran Deebo Samuel wore a blue non-contact jersey during practice because he suffered a wrist injury in San Francisco’s Week 6 win at Seattle.

After catching a few passes from Brock Purdy during warmups, Samuel appeared to step back and just watch drills.

The receiver group was also without Jauan Jennings, who suffered a hip injury during the Seattle game and was unable to practice on Wednesday. Samuel and Jennings’ injuries were not known during the game and were only reported after the players had rested for three days.

The 49ers’ defensive line could also use some reinforcement to contain Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes on Sunday, as Maliek Collins is nursing a knee injury, as is Jordan Elliott, who missed the game in Seattle.

San Francisco could again option rookie Evan Anderson for Sunday’s game, along with TY McGill and Alex Barrett.

However, not on the injured list are tight end George Kittle (ribs) and linebacker Fred Warner (ankle), who were battling injuries prior to the 49ers’ visit to the Pacific Northwest, meaning their ailments did not worsen. Also on the practice field with no injury reports were linebacker Demetrius Flannigan-Fowles (calf) and cornerback Charvarius Ward (knee), making their way back to the field.
