Preparatory sports extra: October 16th

On Wednesday evening, WDIO Sports kicked off the 2024 season finale of Prep Sports Extra with highlights and results from our local high school football games.

Hermantown defeated Duluth Denfeld in a back-and-forth battle, 31-19, and finished their regular season with a 7-1 record and a five-game winning streak. The Hunters finished their regular season 5-3.

Rock Ridge withheld Duluth East 19-14, finished 4-4, completing their first .500 regular season in program history. The Greyhounds finished 2-6.

Barnum ended their second perfect regular season with a win South ridge 55-7, finished 8-0. The Panthers finish with a record of 2-6.

Two ports exclude Hibbing The game ended at 59-0 with a record of 7-1 and the fifth win in a row. The Bluejackets finish 2-6.

The Minnesota Section playoffs begin Tuesday. Wisconsin’s prep football teams conclude their regular season on Thursday and Friday. For more Northland results, see the WDIO Scoreboard.
