Oregon Ducks Release White Uniforms for Purdue Boilermakers Game: PHOTOS

After one of the program’s biggest wins against Ohio State at Autzen Stadium, the No. 2 Oregon Ducks are preparing for their third road game of the season and their second Big Ten Conference road game against the Purdue Boilermakers. This will be the first time these two teams have met since 2009, when the Ducks defeated the Boilermakers 36-38 in Eugene.

The Boilermakers are currently 1-5 this season and have yet to win a single Big Ten game. They recently suffered a disappointing 50-49 overtime loss to No. 23 Illinois, but a promising third-quarter comeback from backup quarterback Ryan Browne kept Purdue in the thick of things until it lost in overtime. Purdue should be an easier challenge for the Ducks compared to the other teams on the schedule, but Spoiler Makers are hoping to bring Oregon to the Upset City when they visit West Lafayette, Indiana this weekend.

Of course, the Ducks can’t move up to the Big Ten without wearing some innovative and stylish looking pieces. It was announced on the “X” page (formerly Twitter) of @GoDucks that the Ducks will wear a white uniform combination when they take the field at Ross-Ade Stadium.

The uniform was modeled by junior defensive lineman Keyon Ware-Hudson and includes a white jersey with the “Mighty Oregon” uniform design, white pants, green and yellow details and numbers, and an alternate Oregon Duck logo on the shoulder area. The white color of the underwear matches the jersey and pants. As for the helmet, a green “O” is prominently displayed on the side, with a yellow base, white and green stripes down the middle, and a yellow face mask with a green-tinted visor. This is also the same helmet from the Mighty Oregon uniform combination.

The shoe design for this match was previously announced by Nike designer Button via his “X” account (formerly Twitter). This shoe design features two shades of green that reflect a Nike Air Force One shoe motif. Yellow laces and silver details in the Nike Swoosh and the studded soles themselves complete this unique footwear.

Fans are encouraged to wear white at Ross Ade Stadium this Friday to match the athletes on the pitch.

This latest uniform release is part of the Ducks’ “Generation O” uniform line. This collection of uniforms is an ode to a decade in which the university and athletic program were known for their “O” logo, based on the outlines of old Hayward Field and Autzen Stadium, stacked on top of each other to look like an ” O “look”. “Generation O” also acts as a love letter to the uniform designs of the past, bringing several previously used Oregon uniform motifs into futuristic designs.

This line of uniforms, designed in part by Nike and Van Horne Designs, includes the all-green “Gang Green” combination worn in the Ducks’ season opener against the Idaho Vandals, the white “Mighty Oregon” uniform with green helmet and green pants ( (Ode to the 1997 Ducks team) worn for the rivalry game against Oregon State, the “Heroes” uniform worn by Oregon coach Dan Lanning’s wife, Sauphia Lanning, and family for a special cause and the Michigan State game, and the “Fly Era” uniform black uniforms debut against the Ohio State Buckeyes.

The latest highly anticipated ‘Generation O’ release appears to be an all-white and silver combination that has only been seen in leaks online.

Earlier this year, the all-white jersey for this combination was accidentally revealed by the Duck Store, who posted an image of the jersey online and then promptly deleted it. The white jersey also appeared in a recent Oregon video, with fans quick to point out that it did not resemble the previously released white “Mighty Oregon” jerseys with yellow and green detailing. Let’s just put it this way, this uniform has been a secret to the Oregon Football Equipment crew for a long time.

Oregon’s new era of uniforms is being led by a group of football athletes and Oregon equipment manager Kenny Farr. The “Uniform Committee” selected specific decades of Oregon football to honor through their uniform designs and is critical in approving designs before they are manufactured by a company in Portland, Oregon. Farr joined the Oregon program in 2008 and is instrumental in how Oregon utilizes its unique uniform designs.

You can see the Oregon Ducks wearing this uniform combination when they take on the Purdue Boilermakers on Friday at 5:00 PM PST in West Lafayette, Indiana.
