The cooling trend will begin Thursday before any rainfall occurs

DENVER (KDVR) — After another warm and sunny day, cooler temperatures offer the possibility of rain returning to Denver’s weather forecast Friday and into the weekend.

Weather tonight: Partly cloudy, mild

Some clouds will remain on Wednesday night. This and a southerly wind direction will help temperatures stay nearly 15 degrees above normal and only fall below 50 degrees.

Weather tomorrow: Sunny, windy

Thursday will be mostly sunny and windy, with south to southwest wind gusts around 30 mph. Temperatures will be cooler than Wednesday, but still about 10 degrees warmer than normal, reaching the mid-70s.

Outlook: Chance of rain, much cooler

On Friday it will be windy with increasing clouds, with a chance of rain showers in the afternoon and evening. Temperatures will be cooler but seasonal, reaching the mid-60s.

The chance of rain will continue into Saturday, but there will be no washout. The chance of rain will continue into Saturday morning, followed by a break in showers in the afternoon and the return of some showers in the evening.

Temperatures will be much cooler on Saturday, only reaching the mid 50s, which is about 10 degrees cooler than normal for this time of year.

There is a chance for more showers on Sunday, with seasonal temperatures rising back to seasonal levels in the mid-60s. Then drier weather sets in at the start of the work week.
