Pistons vs. Cavs GameThread: Game time, TV, odds and more

The Detroit Pistons are wrapping up a mostly promising preseason, although there may be a curveball in it. After a 14-win season with a coach that didn’t meet the needs of his roster and a roster that had absolutely nothing to do with the modern NBA, the bar was pretty low. Still, we saw a somewhat spaced-out offense and growth from three key young players: Cade Cunningham, Jaden Ivey and Jalen Duren. The biggest addition of the offseason, Tobias Harris, was the promised reliable, stabilizing presence, and the other veterans were respected as floor defenders, even if the shot didn’t hit as hard as one would have liked.

Tonight new head coach JB Bickerstaff faces his former team, the Cleveland Cavaliers. He promises that everyone will play, so I can’t imagine we’ll see the core group for too long. However, this is also the last chance to try out lineup combinations that might be worth exploring before the games start counting.
