Prisco’s NFL picks for Week 7: Packers beat Texans, Vikings oust Lions and remain undefeated

Prisco’s NFL picks for Week 7: Packers beat Texans, Vikings oust Lions and remain undefeated

It’s time for me to choose games.

After a slow start, the pace of sports betting has picked up as I went 8-6 against the spread and 12-2 last week. That puts my ATS record at 46-43-3 and my straight-up record at 51-41. I’ll take it.

This week features many high-profile games, including a rematch of last February’s Super Bowl in which the Kansas City Chiefs defeated the San Francisco 49ers. This time the game will take place in San Francisco rather than a neutral field, giving the 49ers a big advantage. But is choosing them enough?

Read on to find out who I’m picking, as well as all of my other sports betting offers. It’s the third Sunday in October, which means we should continue to have a better view of this season – at least that’s how it felt for Week 6. Let’s keep the momentum going.

Thursday, 8:15 p.m. ET (Prime Video)

This is the return of Sean Payton to face his former team. But unlike Saints teams, this Denver team is limited on offense. Although they play well in defense, they have to do without star corner Patrick Surtain. It will be Spencer Rattler at quarterback for the Saints after he made his first start last week. I think he will play solid football here and the Saints will beat their former coach.

Choose: Saints 23, Broncos 16

Bonus: Matt Severance, who has a 21-6 record in Broncos games, has revealed his best bets for Week 7’s Thursday Night Football game. Severance is closer to the under total, but who does he rely on as cover? Find out right here at SportsLine.

Sunday, 9:30 a.m. ET (NFL Network, fubo)

This is the dog game of the week. Both teams have major problems, but at least the Patriots have the excuse to use a rookie quarterback in Drake Maye. Since Jacksonville is the last pass defense, he could hit them with some big plays. But Jacksonville is the better team and Trevor Lawrence will play a little better.

Choose: Jaguars 29, Patriots 21

Sunday, 1 p.m. ET (Fox, fubo test for free)

After three straight losses, this is a long journey for a Seattle team. The defense is struggling. That’s not a good thing against a good Atlanta offense. Look for a lot of scoring here as both quarterbacks are playing well. But it’s Kirk Cousins who plays better for the Falcons.

Choose: Falcons 34, Seahawks 30

Sunday, 1 p.m. ET (CBS, Paramount+)

The Bills are playing a short week after beating the Jets. The Titans suffered a tough loss at home to the Colts. Their offense has been lifeless for most of the season while the Bills can put up points. But I think Tennessee’s defense will keep the Titans in this game. It’s closer than expected.

Choose: Bills 23, Titans 17

Sunday, 1 p.m. ET (CBS, Paramount+)

The Battle of Ohio is not what we expected at the start of the season. The Browns are terrible on offense while the Bengals have struggled on defense. Something has to give here. I say Joe Burrow is playing well and the Bengals defense will continue what other defenses have done to the Browns this season, letting Deshaun Watson struggle. The Bengals win.

Choose: Bengals 21, Browns 17

Sunday, 1 p.m. ET (CBS, Paramount+)

This game features two of the better young passers in the league in CJ Stroud and Jordan Love. Both can put up big numbers in the passing game. The Texans are playing back-to-back road games, which is difficult. The Packers will make the most of it if Love wins a shootout with Stroud.

Choose: Packers 34, Texans 30

Miami Dolphins at Indianapolis Colts (-3.5)

Sunday, 1 p.m. ET (Fox, fubo test for free)

The Dolphins missed the sendoff they desperately needed while the Colts picked up a road win over the Titans. Anthony Richardson will return at quarterback for the Colts, while Tyler Huntley will start for the Dolphins. Both teams had defensive issues trying to stop the run. So look for the Colts with the better running game to find a way.

Choose: Colts 21, Dolphins 17

Sunday, 1 p.m. ET (Fox, fubo test for free)

This is first place in the division, with the Vikings suffering a bye and the Lions suffering a loss to the Cowboys on the road. The Lions lost Aidan Hutchinson to a broken leg, which will have a major impact on their pass rush. Look for Sam Darnold to light it up with a throw to Ustin Jefferson. The Lions will also have their luck with Jared Goff playing well. It will be fun to watch, but the Vikings will win it.

Choose: Vikings 31, Lions 26

Sunday, 1 p.m. ET (Fox, fubo test for free)

The Eagles didn’t look good in their win over the Browns last week, while the Giants lacked offense in their loss to the Bengals. The Giants defense is playing well, but the Eagles offense is not. The Giants will get receiver Malik Nabers back in this game, which will be significant. The Giants win it in an upset.

Choose: Giants 24, Eagles 20

Sunday, 4:05 p.m. ET (CBS, Paramount+)

The Rams get a bye, which they needed due to injury. The Raiders have lost two in a row and the switch to Aidan O’Connell at quarterback improved the offense, but did not produce a win. How does the move from Davante Adams impact this team? The Rams are the better team and Matt Stafford will be the better quarterback. Rams take it.

Choose: Rams 27, Raiders 19

Sunday, 4:05 p.m. ET (CBS, Paramount+)

This is a game with two defenses struggling against two offenses capable of scoring. So keep an eye out for some sort of shootout between Jayden Daniels and Andy Dalton. In the end, I’m betting it’s Daniels who makes the most of it as Washington recovers from last week’s loss to the Ravens.

Choose: Commander 35, Panther 27

Kansas City Chiefs at San Francisco 49ers (-1)

Sunday, 4:25 p.m. ET (Fox, fubo test for free)

This is a big game for both teams, the Super Bowl rematch. The Chiefs are coming off a bye while the 49ers played last Thursday, which somewhat mucks things up. The 49ers have struggled on defense, which is not a good thing against Patrick Mahomes. The Chiefs play well on defense. This also carries over to winning a tough away game.

Choose: Chiefs 27, 49ers 23

Sunday, 8:20 p.m. ET (NBC, fubo test for free)

The Jets made a move to bring in Davante Adams, who should help the offense if he plays. The Steelers have a quarterback problem once again as it looks like Russell Wilson will take the first-team reps. No matter who plays, running style and defense will be crucial for the Steelers in this game. But the Jets will play good run defense again and Aaron Rodgers will do enough to win a tough road game.

Choose: Jets 23, Steelers 17

Monday, 8:15 p.m. ET (ESPN, fubo test for free)

This is a big game between two of the better teams in the league right now. Both offenses can score big points quickly. This could be one of those games where the last team with the ball wins. Since I’m home and will be with Baker Mayfield on Monday to win a shootout.

Choose: Bucs 34, Ravens 31

Monday, 9:00 p.m. ET (ESPN+)

The Chargers are on the road for the second week in a row after their win in Denver. The Cardinals are home for the first time in three weeks. Arizona is shorthanded on defense and it shows on a weekly basis, even when they play hard. I bet the Chargers win behind their offense. Kyler Murray won’t be able to keep up as the Chargers defense continues to play well.

Choose: Chargers 27, Cardinals 14
