Marshall County schools offer free mental health services with WVU Medicine

Marshall County Schools has partnered with WVU Medicine’s Rockefeller Science Institute to provide free mental health services to students.

The program is being expanded to include those ages 15 and older, but starting January 2025 it will expand to all grades.

For students in need, transportation to the scheduled dates is included in the price.

“When they work with their school, we have what we call a student support team, and whenever they work with them, all they have to do is tell them what type of support system they need and we will work to help them get what “They need to be successful,” said Shelby Haines, superintendent of Marshall County Schools.

“I encourage everyone to seek mental health support,” said Tiffany Wees, regional director of the WVU Medicine Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute – Northern Region.

“As a community, we must do better to end the stigma surrounding mental health.”
