23 key NBA milestones to watch for in 2024-25

The 2024-25 season is nearly here and plenty of historic stats milestones are on the horizon.

James Harden, LeBron James and others rank among the 23 major individual milestones you should follow this season — as well as some key team records that could be set.

Kevin Durant | Phoenix Suns

Points

Kevin Durant has been on a scoring surge over the last two seasons. He opened 2022-23 at No. 21 and was up to No. 13 by season’s end. Last season, he moved into the Top 10, passing Hakeem Olajuwon, Elvin Hayes, Moses Malone, Carmelo Anthony and Shaquille O’Neal to rise to No. 8.

Durant, who has 28,924 career points, isn’t likely to move up to No. 7 on the scoring list and pass Wilt Chamberlain (31,419) for that spot. He trails Chamberlain by 2,496 points and his career high for points in a season — 2,472 — came in 2009-10. However, Durant needs 1,076 points to become the eighth player with 30,000 career points.

The other players in the 30,000-point club? LeBron James (40,474), Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (38,387), Karl Malone (36,928), Kobe Bryant (33,643), Michael Jordan (32,292), Dirk Nowitzki (31,560) and Chamberlain (31,419).

Field goals made

Durant enters the 2024-25 season at No. 17 in field goals made (9,950) and needs 14 more to pass Dominique Wilkins (9,963) for No. 16. However, given that Durant made 751 field goals in 2023-24 and has averaged 604 field goals per season over his last three seasons, he could rise much higher than that.

Provided Durant posts roughly 600 field goals this season, he’ll both surpass the 10,000 career field goals mark and move within range of a spot in the Top 10, too.

3-pointers made

Durant ranks No. 15 in 3-pointers made (2,031) and needs 113 more in 2024-25 to surpass Paul Pierce (2,143) for No. 14. Last season, Durant made 168 3-pointers, his most since 2017-18, and has averaged 125 3-pointers made per season over the last three seasons. Durant, however, is sharing places in the Top 15 with other active players including No. 13 Kyle Lowry (2,176) and No. 11 Paul George (2,253). To pass No. 12 Jamal Crawford, Durant needs to hit 191 3-pointers, which would be his most since 2013-14.

Free throws made

Durant is not only in the Top 10 in scoring but also in career free throws made (6,993). He needs 168 free throws made to pass Jerry West for No. 9 (7,160). Over the last three seasons, Durant has averaged 347 made free throws and hit 362 free throws last season. Durant needs 248 free throws to pass Dirk Nowitzki (7,240) for No. 8 and 335 to pass Michael Jordan (7,327) for No. 7.

James Harden | LA Clippers

Points

Harden has a storied history as one of the league’s top scorers and playmakers and can raise the all-time ranks in both categories in 2024-25.

Last season, Harden moved to No. 20 on the all-time scoring list and, with scoring production similar to his past two seasons, could move well into the Top 15 in pthat category.

He needs 187 points to pass Kevin Garnett for No. 19, but he can climb higher than that in 2024-25. Over the past two seasons, he has averaged 1,204 total points and a season of about 1,200 points would mean he’d pass No. 18 John Havlicek (26,395), No. 17 Paul Pierce (26,397), No. 16 Tim Duncan (26,496), No. 15 Dominique Wilkins (26,668), No. 14 Oscar Robertson (26,710) and No. 13 Hakeem Olajuwon (26,946).

3-pointers made

Harden scored plenty of those 25,885 points off shots from deep, with his 2,940 3-pointers made accounting for 34% (8,820 points) of that total. This season, Harden needs 34 3-pointers to surpass Ray Allen for No. 2 all-time. That mark should be a given considering Harden’s career low for 3-pointers is 93 (from his rookie season) and he made 186, 161 and 148 3-pointers, respectively, in his last three seasons.

Aside from passing Allen, Harden can become the second player in history (Stephen Curry is the other) with 3,000 career 3-pointers. He needs just 60 more 3-pointers to join the 3,000 3-pointers club.

Free throws made

The 3-point line has been kind to Harden in his career as has the free-throw line. His 7,659 free throws made rank No. 6 and he can climb even higher on that list in 2024-25. He needs 36 more free throws to pass Oscar Robertson for No. 5 and could close in on 8,000 career free throws made as well. Harden is just 341 made free throws shy of 8,000 in his career and, considering he has averaged 361 free throws made over the last three seasons, that total seems within reach in 2024-25. Only four players — Karl Malone (9,787), Moses Malone (8,531), LeBron James (8,390) and Kobe Bryant (8,378) — have at least 8,000 career free throws.

Assists

Harden ranks 14th in career assists (7,629). He needs 359 assists to pass No. 13 Rod Strickland (7,987) and 371 to reach 8,000. Last season, Harden had 614 assists.

Triple-Doubles

Harden is tied with Dallas Mavericks guard Luka Dončić for eighth in career triple-doubles (77). They are one behind No. 7 Wilt Chamberlain (78).

LeBron James | Los Angeles Lakers

Games played

Last season, LeBron James became the first player to reach 40,000 career points, the first player with 20 All-Star selections and moved up to No. 2 in minutes played. After all that, you’d think James would be entitled to a break, but more milestones are within reach for him in 2024-25.

James has played in 1,492 games in his career, which ranks fifth all-time. He needs to play in 13 more games to surpass John Stockton (1,504) for No. 4. However, James has a great chance to move as high as No. 2 overall in games played. He appeared in 71 games last season and has averaged 60 games per season over the last three seasons. If he plays in 69 games in 2024-25, he’ll pass Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (1,560) for No. 2 in games played.

3-pointers made

Last season, James hit 149 3-pointers and moved past Jason Terry (2,282) and Vince Carter (2,290) on the all-time list. James’ 2,410 career 3-pointers rank No. 8 overall and he needs 41 more to pass former teammate Kyle Korver (2,450) for the No. 7 spot. Much like last season, James and Dallas Mavericks guard Klay Thompson are not far away from each other (Thompson has 2,481 made 3-pointers).

However, if James can hit 151 3-pointers this season, he’ll surpass one-time 3-point king Reggie Miller (2,560) for No. 5 on the all-time list.

Free throws made

James has hit 8,390 free throws in his career, which ranks No. 3 all-time. He needs 142 more made free throws in 2024-25 to rise to No. 2 and surpass Moses Malone (8,531). James’ 303 made free throws last season were his most since 2017-18 and he has averaged 269 free throws made per season over his last three seasons, putting Malone’s mark well within reach. The road to No. 1 (Karl Malone) is much longer, though: James needs 1,398 free throws to pass Malone (9,787) for that perch.

Defensive rebounds

As a defensive rebounder, James is already in the Top 10 all-time (9,458). Entering the 2024-25 season, he needs 24 more defensive rebounds to surpass Moses Malone (9,481) for No. 8 and 257 to move ahead of Hakeem Olajuwon (9,714) for No. 7. James has averaged 415 defensive rebounds per season over his last three season and with another season at that sort of pace, moving to No. 7 shouldn’t be hard.

James needs 542 defensive rebounds this season to reach 10,000 in that category, but that might be a tall order. The last time he had at least that many defensive rebounds in a season was in 2017-18, when he had a career-best 612 defensive rebounds.

Steals

The likelihood of James breaking into the Top 5 in steals is small in 2024-25. But the chances of him improving his chances to do so in 2025-26 seem all the more likely.

James has 2,275 career steals, which ranks No. 8 all-time. He needs 33 more to surpass Scottie Pippen (2,307) for No. 7 and needs 36 to overtake Maurice Cheeks (2,310) for No. 6. Over the past three seasons, James has averaged 70 steals per season. James, however, has a wide gap between himself and Gary Payton (2,445) at No. 5 even if he has a 70-or-so steal season.

Brook Lopez | Milwaukee Bucks

Blocks

Lopez is well-established as one of the top paint protectors in the NBA, with two All-Defensive Team nods and he was the NBA’s leader in blocks two seasons ago. His 1,912 blocks ranks No. 22 all time and he needs 57 blocks to surpass Theo Ratliff for No. 20 in that category. Lopez has averaged 165 blocks per season over his last five healthy seasons and had 189 blocks in 2023-24. A season with about 160 blocks would put Lopez in position to rise as high as No. 16 overall.

Kyle Lowry | Philadelphia 76ers

Assists

Moving into the Top 20 in assists is almost assured for Lowry this season. He needs 34 more assists to pass Tony Parker (7,036) for No. 20 in assists and likely will move even higher in 2024-25. Although Lowry’s assist production has slipped of late, he has averaged 267 assists per season over his last two seasons. A season in which he comes close to that average would put him on the cusp of the Top 15.

3-pointers made

Lowry is already in the Top 15 in 3-pointers made, ranking No. 13 with 2,176 in his career. He needs 46 to move ahead of Jamal Crawford (2,221) for No. 12. His Philadelphia teammate, Paul George, ranks No. 11 in 3-pointers made entering the season (2,253).

He and Lowry could both move past No. 10 Jason Terry (2,282) this season, though. Lowry needs to make 107 3-pointers to move into No. 10 and pass Crawford, while George needs 30 to pass Crawford. Last season, Lowry made 98 3-pointers and hit 107 the season before, so his chances to pass Crawford seem plausible.

Chris Paul | San Antonio Spurs

After an injury-marred season with the Golden State Warriors, Paul signed with the Spurs in free agency this summer. As 2024-25, he has a chance to move up to No. 2 on a pair of all-time stats leaderboards.

Assists

The odds of Paul catching all-time assists leader John Stockton (15,806) are slim given Paul’s mileage. However, he is just 198 assists shy of passing Jason Kidd for No. 2 on the all-time assists list, a feat Paul should pull off in 2024-25 if he stays healthy.

Last season, he had a career-low 393 assists after posting 524 assists in 2022-23. But in the two seasons before that, he posted 702 assists (in 2021-22) and 622 assists (’20-21). However, those totals were a bit of outliers as he had four straight seasons before that with 563 or fewer assists. Given that Paul should have the ball in his hands plenty of the time in San Antonio, Paul’s chances of surpassing Kidd seem solid.

Steals

Stockton also has the steals mark well out of Paul’s reach with 3,265 to Paul’s 2,614. However, Paul needs just 71 more steals to pass Kidd for No. 2 in steals. Last season, Paul had 70 steals in 58 games and has had at least 99 steals in the six seasons before that.

Russell Westbrook | Denver Nuggets

Points

Last season, Westbrook surpassed Jerry West for No. 25 on the all-time scoring list. This season, he has a decent shot of moving into the Top 20 in all-time scoring, even though he seems set to once again serve in a reserve role (as he did last season).

At 25,211 points, Westbrook needs 69 points to pass Reggie Miller (25,279) for No. 23 on the all-time list. While he will likely remain a few paces behind his former teammate, James Harden (see above) in the all-time scoring chase this season, he should climb the ranks.

Last season, Westbrook totaled a career-low 754 points and has averaged 1,118 points over his last three seasons. If he posts around 860 points this season, he could make a significant leap on the all-time scoring chart.

Assists

In his career, Westbrook has broken several of the triple-double records Hall of Famer Oscar Robertson once held. This season, he has a chance to take his place in assists history, too.

Westbrook passed Isiah Thomas (9,061 assists) last season to move into the Top 10 and sits at No. 9 with 9,468 career assists. This season, Westbrook needs 420 more assists to supplant Robertson (9,887) for No. 8 on the all-time assists list.

In 2023-24, Westbrook delivered 306 assists and has averaged 469 assists over his last three seasons. Given his likely reduced role in Denver, Westbrook has a good chance to pass Robertson. It’s unlikely he’d pass Magic Johnson (10,141) for No. 7, though, as Westbrook would need 674 assists in 2024-25 (his last season with at least 674 assists was in 2020-21).

Steals

In his career, Westbrook has amassed 1,849 steals, which ranks 11th in that category. In 2024-25, Westbrook needs 11 steals to surpass Kevin Garnett (1,859) for No. 18. Over the last three seasons, Westbrook has averaged 75 steals and a season with that many thefts would push him past Garnett and he needs 13 steals to pass No. 17 Isiah Thomas (1,861).

Moving into the Top 15 would be a bit dicey, perhaps: Westbrook needs 96 steals to pass No. 16 Kobe Bryant (1,944) and 109 steals to pass No. 15 Derek Harper (1,957). Westbrook has not had a season with 100 or more steals since 2018-19.

Field goals made

With 9,055 made field goals, Westbrook is No. 23 in that statistic as 2024-25 begins. He needs 239 field goals to surpass Vince Carter (9,293) for No. 22. Last season, Westbrook’s 301 field goals were a career-low, but over the last three seasons, he has averaged 427 field goals per season. He needs at least 381 field goals this season to pass No. 21 Moses Malone (9,435).

Other milestones: Players & coaches

Wolves center Rudy Gobert: Gobert has been named the Kia NBA Defensive Player of the Year four times, tied with Dikembe Mutombo and Ben Wallace for the most in league history. Gobert has a chance to become the first five-time winner of the Kia DPOY.

Spurs coach Gregg Popovich: The NBA’s all-time leader in coaching wins, Popovich (1,388 career wins) is 12 shy of reaching 1,400.

Bucks coach Doc Rivers: Milwaukee’s coach ranks eighth in career coaching wins (1,114). He needs 42 wins to pass No. 7 Phil Jackson (1,155).

Pacers coach Rick Carlisle: Last season, Carlisle became the 14th coach with 900 career wins. He ranks 12th overall in career coaching wins (943) and needs two wins to pass his former mentor, No. 11 Bill Fitch (944), and 57 to reach 1,000.

Heat coach Erik Spolestra: The 2024-25 season will mark Spoelstra’s 17th at the helm of Miami, passing Red Auerbach (16 seasons with the Boston Celtics) for the third-longest streak with one team in NBA history. Only Popovich with the Spurs (29 seasons) and former Utah Jazz coach Jerry Sloan (23 seasons) have been with one team for longer.

Additionally, Spoelstra is No. 19 in career wins (750) and 50 shy of 800 in his career. He needs 11 wins to pass No. 18 Nate McMillan (760) and 35 wins to pass No. 17 Gene Shue (784).

Team-by-team records

While some individual players are set to reach overall NBA milestones, there are some team-specific ones within the grasp of several players in 2024-25.

Here’s a team-by-team look:

(Editor’s note: Teams without an entry means they do not have a player within a realistic range of moving up in a statistical category for that franchise in 2024-25.)

Atlanta Hawks

• Trae Young is already No. 1 in 3-pointers made in franchise history and assists and can keep climbing the ranks in several other categories in 2024-25. Most notably, Young needs 228 more points to supplant Joe Johnson (10,606) for No. 6 in scoring. Along the way, Young would also pass No. 7 Kevin Willis (10,582) in points as he needs 204 points to move ahead of him. Last season, Young scored 1,389 points and his single-season high for points was 2,155 in 2021-22. To reach the No. 5 spot and supplant John Drew, Young needs to score at least 2,243 points in 2024-25.

Young has put up 2,983 3-pointers in his career with Atlanta. He needs 38 3-point attempts to move ahead of Mookie Blaylock (3,023) for No. 1 in that stat. Last season, Young attempted 469 3-pointers and his career-low in 3-point attempts is 397 in 2020-21.

Additionally, Young needs 246 more field goals to pass Al Horford (3,544) for No. 10 on the team’s all-time list. Last season, Young made 433 field goals, which was his lowest total since 2020-21. In the last three seasons, Young has averaged 580 field goals per season. If he hits around 580, he would also pass No. 9 Eddie Johnson (3,801) and needs 709 field goals to pass Joe Johnson (4,007) for No. 8.

Young is on the cusp of the Top 5 in both free throw attempts and makes for the Hawks, too. With 2,722 career free throws made and 3,118 attempts, he ranks No. 6 and No. 8, respectively, in those stats. He is 188 free throws away from passing Hall of Famer Lou Hudson (2,909) for No. 5 and 248 from passing Hall of Famer Cliff Hagan (2,969) for No. 4. Young made just 348 free throws and attempted 407, both of which were off his usual pace of 450 makes and 519 attempts per season.

If Young hits 450 free throws, he’ll easily pass Hudson and Hagan. In terms of attempts, Young needs needs eight to pass Josh Smith (3,125) for No. 7, 361 to pass Hall of Famer Lenny Wilkens (3,478) for No. 6 and 542 to pass Hagan (3,722) for No. 5.

• In his four seasons with the Hawks, Bogdan Bogdanović has climbed to No. 5 in both 3-pointers made (701) and attempted (1,793) in team lore. He needs 118 3-pointers to pass Kyle Korver (818) for No. 4 in team history and 208 3-pointers to pass Joe Johnson (908) for No. 3. Last season, Bogdanović made a career-best 240 3-pointers, but has averaged 175 3-pointers per season in his Hawks career. In terms of 3-point attempts, Bogdanović needs 19 more to pass Korver for No. 4 (1,811) and 705 more to pass Johnson (2,502) for No. 3. Last season, Bogdanović put up a career-best 640 3-pointers, which makes passing Johnson a bit unlikely in 2024-25.

• Big man Clint Capela also has played four seasons in Atlanta and also rising the team’s all-time ranks in blocks and rebounding. In terms of blocks, Capela ranks No. 10 with 407 in his career and is 20 swats from passing Willis (426) for No. 9. Capela had 106 blocks last season and averages 101 blocks per season with the Hawks. If he registers 100 blocks in 2024-25, he would also pass Theo Ratliff (436) for No. 8 and be within range of Dominique Wilkins (588) for No. 7.

In terms of rebounding, Capela is No. 11 in offensive rebounds (1,169) and defensive rebounds (2,104) and No. 17 in total rebounds (3,273). He registered a career-best 335 offensive rebounds in 2024-25 and a season and needs nine offensive rebounds to pass Cliff Levingston (1,177) for No. 10. If Capela gets around 290 offensive rebounds in 2024-25, he could pass No. 9 Dikembe Mutombo (1,228), No. 8 Zaza Pachulia (1,247), No. 8 Horford (1,377) as well.

Lastly, Capela needs 141 defensive rebounds to pass Steve Hawes (2,244) for No. 10 on the Hawks’ list in that stat. Capela’s 441 defensive rebounds were his lowest yet with Atlanta, but a season with 480 or more defensive rebounds would push him past John Drew (2,555) at No. 9 and Jon Koncak (2,583) and No. 8.

Boston Celtics

• Jayson Tatum has scored 11,852 points in Boston, which ranks No. 13, but he is just 1,337 points away from passing JoJo White (13,188) for No. 10 in team history. Tatum scored 1,987 points last season and has scored more than 2,000 points in the two seasons before that. Another campaign with about 1,980 points would move him past No. 12 Tom Heinsohn (12,194), No. 11 Bill Sharman (12,287), White and No. 9 Dave Cowens (13,192).

Tatum has 563 steals in his career, which ranks No. 12 in Celtics’ lore. He is seven steals away from passing both Reggie Lewis and Cowens (569) for No. 10. Additionally, Tatum ranks No. 16 in rebounds (3,670) and needs 335 more rebounds to pass Paul Silas (4,004) for No. 15 in that statistic. Over the past three seasons, Tatum is averaging 619 rebounds per season which puts Silas within as well as Cedric Maxwell (4,023) at No. 14.

Tatum can move into the top 10 in free throws made and supplant Maxwell (2,738) with 437 or more free throws in 2024-25. Last season, Tatum sank 414 free throws and is averaging 448 free throws per season over his last three seasons. If Tatum gets to 437, he’d also move ahead of No. 11 Ed Macauley (2,724), No. 12 Tom Heinsohn (2,648), No. 13 Don Nelson (2,534) and No. 14 Frank Ramsey (2,480).

Tatum isn’t known as a paint-protector, but he has amassed 346 career blocks (No. 13 all-time in Boston). He needs 33 blocks to pass No. 10 Maxwell (378) and has posted 47 blocks per season over his last three seasons, putting that mark well within reach. Along the way, Tatum would pass No. 12 Robert Williams III (348) and No. 11 Tony Battie (369) on the team’s list.

• Reigning NBA Finals MVP Jaylen Brown has been linked with Tatum throughout his career and it’s no surprise he’s primed to move up in several stats this season as well. He, like, Tatum is within striking range of No. 10 in the Celtics’ career steals list, needing just 31 steals to pass Lewis and Cowens for that spot.

Brown is unlikely to move ahead of Tatum in 3-pointers made as he enters the season with 1,296 to Brown’s 1,028. However, Brown needs 172 3-pointers in 2024-25 to reach 1,200 in his Boston career, joining Tatum and Paul Pierce (1,823) as the only Celtics in that club. Last season, Brown made 145 3-pointers, but from 2020-23, he averaged 164 3-pointers per season, which isn’t far from the needed number.

• Al Horford can put pressure on Larry Bird on the Celtics’ all-time 3-pointers made list this season. He is 52 3-pointers shy of passing Bird (649 3-pointers) for No. 7 on Boston’s all-time. Last season, Horford made 108 3-pointers and last made less than 60 3-pointers in a season in 2020-21, when most of his season was lost due to injury.

Brooklyn Nets

• Nic Claxton has emerged as a premiere paint-protector since becoming a full-time starter in 2022-23, posting 146 and 186 blocks in the last two seasons, respectively. He needs 126 blocks to pass Derrick Coleman (559) for No. 5 all-time and 166 blocks to pass Mike Gminski (599) for No. 4 all-time. Considering Claxton’s production the last two seasons, both stats seem well within reach.

• Bojan Bogdanović spent his first 2 1/2 seasons with the Nets (2014-15 to 2016-17) and hit 319 3-pointers in that span, which has him No. 12 in team lore as 2024-25 begins. Last season Bogdanović made 133 3-pointers, marking the first time he failed to hit at least 145 3-pointers in a season since 2016-17. However, Bogdanović needs 120 3-pointers to pass No. 8 Kyrie Irving (438) on the team’s list. Should Bogdanović bounce back and sink around 160 3-pointers this season, he’d be close to passing No. 7 Deron Williams (485). If Bogdanović passes Irving, he’d also move ahead of No. 9 Chris Morris (368), No. 10 Keith Van Horn (335) and No. 11 D’Angelo Russell (324) on the team’s 3-pointers made list.

Additionally, Bogdanović has 871 3-point attempts in his Brooklyn career. He is 327 3-point attempts away from passing Morris (1,197) for No. 8 in that category. Last season, Bogdanović’s 334 3-point attempts were his fewest since 2015-16. Given his likely scoring role for the Nets in 2024-25, it seems almost assured he’ll reach the 327 he needs to move up. Should he do that, he’d also pass No. 9 Irving (1,107), No. 10 Van Horn (968) and No. 11 Russell (913).

Charlotte Hornets

• Injuries limited guard LaMelo Ball to 22 games in 2023-24. Despite all that missed time, he needs just 242 more assists to pass Baron Davis for No. 5 on the team’s all-time assists list. Provided Ball’s stats are similar to his in 2021-22 (his last healthy season) — when he piled up 571 assists — Ball can also move ahead of David Wesley (1,911) for No. 4. Along the way to reaching Davis, Ball would pass No. 10 Terry Rozier (1,395), No. 9 Dell Curry (1,429), No. 8 Brevin Knight (1,497), No. 7 Nicolas Batum (1,521) and No. 6 Larry Johnson (1,553).

• Miles Bridges can move into the Top 10 or Top 5 in several different all-time categories this season, starting with points. He has scored 5,342 points in Charlotte, which ranks No. 8, but needs 633 points in 2024-25 to supplant former teammate Terry Rozier (5,974) for No. 5.

He’s also 38 games played away from passing Matt Caroll (397) for No. 10 on that list. Last season, Bridges appeared in 69 games and another such season would tie him with Marvin Williams (429) for No. 8. Should he reach No. 8, Bridges would pass No. 9 Raymond Felton (399), No. 10 Carroll, No. 11 Gerald Henderson (391), No. 12 Kenny Gattison (390), No. 13 Johnson (377) and No. 14 Wesley (362) in games played.

Bridges needs 221 more assists to pass Boris Diaw (1,107) for No. 15 on the team’s all-time list. Last season, Bridges amassed 231 assists and had 300 assists in 2021-22, which puts his chances as No. 15 fairly high.

He is also 31 rebounds from passing Hall of Famer Alonzo Mourning (2,176) for No. 10. Bridges has amassed 500 or more rebounds in each of his last two seasons, so another season with at least 500 pushes him past No. 5 Bismack Biyombo (2,625) in team lore. En route to passing Biyombo, Bridges would leap past No. 6 Michael Kidd-Gilchrist (2,388), No. 7 Anthony Mason (2,354), No. 8 Kemba Walker (2,317) and No. 9 Williams (2,293).

Bridges can move into the Top 5 in both categories should he make at least 284 field goals and attempt at least 670 shots. Hornets legend Muggsy Bogues ranks No. 5 in field goals made (2,307), while Rozier (4,979) is No. 5 in attempts. Last season, Bridges made 559 field goals on 1,210 attempts. A similar season with 565 field goals and 1,210 attempts would push him to No. 4 in field goals, supplanting Gerald Wallace (2,586 field goals/5,422 attempts) in both categories.

Chicago Bulls

• Zach LaVine has scored 8,562 points with the Bulls and enters 2023-24 as the No. 7 all-time scorer. He is 1,185 points from passing Jerry Sloan (10,233 points) for the No. 5 and 1,238 points from passing Luol Deng (10,286) for No. 4. In his last three healthy seasons (2020-23), LaVine averaged 1,713 points per season. If he reaches No. 4, LaVine would also pass Hall of Famers Artis Gilmore (9,288) at No. 7 and Chet Walker (9,788) at No. 6.

In terms of assists, LaVine needs 222 more to pass Toni Kukoc for No. 10 in team history. LaVine has 1,619 assists in Chicago, which ranks No. 14, and can also pass No. 11 Sloan (1,815), No. 12 B.J. Armstrong (1,741) and No. 13 Joakim Noah (1,704).

LaVine is No. 2 in Bulls history in 3-pointers made (994) and attempted (2,593), trailing only Kirk Hinrich (1,049/2,792). This season, LaVine needs 56 3-pointers and 200 attempts to pass Hinrich in both categories. LaVine set career highs in 3-pointers made (204) and attempted (544) in 2023-24 and LaVine has averaged 196 3-pointers on 498 attempts over his last three healthy seasons.

• Nikola Vučević can move into the Bulls’ Top 15 in rebounding and its Top 10 in 3-pointers made and attempted this season. Vučević has 2,808 rebounds as a Bull and needs 229 more to pass Hall of Famer Dennis Rodman (3,036) for No. 15. Last season, Vučević amassed 801 rebounds and has averaged 836 rebounds over his last three seasons with Chicago.

In his Bulls career, Vučević is 376-for-1,143 on 3-pointers, which ranks him 12th and 11th in those categories, respectively. He needs 28 3-point attempts to pass Andres Nocioni (403) for No. 10 and 16 3-point attempts to pass Derrick Rose (1,158) for No. 10 in attempts. Vučević shot 92-for-313 last season, and a season with about 100 3-pointers and 340 attempts would have him inching toward the Top 5 in both categories.

Cleveland Cavaliers

• Darius Garland has scored 5,660 points in his career, putting him 70 points away from passing Jim Chones (5,729) for No. 15 in scoring. If Garland scores at least 1,598 points this season, he’d pass Larry Nance (7,257) for No. 10 on the scoring list while also moving ahead of No. 11 Campy Russell (6,588), No. 12 World B. Free (6,329), No. 13 Tristan Thompson (6,000) and No. 14 Terrell Brandon (5,793). Garland, however, has never scored more than 1,490 points in a season (last done in 2022-23), so reaching No. 10 may be difficult.

Garland also needs 64 assists to pass Kyrie Irving and Foots Walker (2,115) for sole possession of No. 5 on the team’s all-time assists list. He could climb as high as No. 3 — supplanting John Bagley (2,311) as he needs just 260 assists to accomplish that.

In terms of steals, Garland is No. 20 in Cavs history (356 steals) but can get within range of No. 10 this season. Garland is 67 steals from passing Brad Daugherty (422) for No. 11 and is 119 steals from Bagley (474) at No. 10. Garland has at least 74 steals in each of his last three seasons, making his chase for No. 11 a near-certainty provided he’s healthy.

Garland has amassed 685 3-pointers on 1,784 attempts in Cleveland, ranking No. 5 in both categories. He needs 118 3-pointers and 117 attempts to pass Mark Price (802-for-1960) for No. 3 all-time in both stats. Garland has made at least 132 3-pointers (and attempted at lest 356) in each of his last three seasons.

• Jarrett Allen and Evan Mobley are two of the NBA’s top shot blockers and rebounders. This season, both can climb the ranks in Cavs history.

In terms of blocked shots, Allen (311 blocks with Cavs) needs 44 blocks to pass Jim Brewer (353) for No. 10 in that category. Not far behind is Mobley (306), who also needs 48 blocks to pass Brewer. Both players amassed more than 70 blocks last season, and another season with 80 blocks each would put them within range of No. 8 Anderson Varejao (399) and No. 9 Daugherty (397).

Allen can move into the Top 10 in offensive, defensive and total rebounds in Cavs history this season. In his career with Cleveland, Allen has 814 offensive rebounds, 1,771 defensive rebounds and 2,585 total rebounds. He needs 142 offensive rebounds (to pass Tyrone Hill’s 955), 489 defensive rebounds (to pass Brewer’s 2,259) and needs at least 967 total rebounds (to pass Brewer’s 3,551) to reach No. 10 in all those categories. Last season, Allen totaled 811 rebounds (243 offensive, 568 defensive).

Dallas Mavericks

• Luka Dončić continues to climb the Mavs’ all-time scoring list, reaching No. 6 last season with his 11,470 points. In 2024-25, he could rise as high as No. 4. He needs 920 points to pass Michael Finley (12,389) for No. 5 and 1,128 points to pass Derek Harper (12,597) for No. 4, both of which are well within Doncic’s range. He has scored at least 2,138 points in his last two seasons and is 2,461 from Mark Aguirre and the No. 3 spot.

Dončić is No. 5 in team history in assists (3,317) and needs 335 to pass Dirk Nowitzki (3,651) for No. 4 in that category. Last season, Dončić amassed 686 dimes and is 895 assists from passing Jason Kidd (4,211) for No. 3. He is also within range of the Top 10 in steals as Dončić (467 steals) needs 19 more to pass Sam Perkins (485) for No. 10 in that category. Dončić has recorded at least 75 steals in each of his last three seasons.

With 3,472 rebounds in Dallas, Dončić ranks No. 4 in that category and needs 296 rebounds this season to pass Perkins (3,767) for No. 3. Additionally, Dončić needs 209 defensive rebounds to pass James Donaldson (3,293) for No. 2 in that category. In 2023-24, Dončić grabbed 647 total rebounds (588 of which were defensive) and another such season would clinch both spots for him.

Last season, Dončić was No. 4 in the NBA in both free throws made (478) and attempted (608). He also ranks No. 4 in Mavs history in both stats (2,473-for-3,309) and needs 343 free throws and 485 attempts to pass No. 3 Mark Aguirre (2,815-for-3,793).

Denver Nuggets

• Nikola Jokić is already the team’s all-time leader in assists, rebounds and defensive rebounds and ranks in the top five in scoring, games played, offensive rebounds, 3-pointers made and attempted, free throws made and attempted and field goals made and attempted.

He is 529 points away from passing Dan Issel (14,659) for No. 2 in points scored, trailing only Alex English (21,645) for that mark. In 2023-24, the reigning Kia MVP scored 2,085 points, collected 223 offensive rebounds, had 108 steals and was 83-for-231 on 3-pointers, 822-for-1,411 from the field and 358-for-438 on free throws. Those are all stats to keep in mind in 2024-25.

This season, he needs 256 offensive rebounds to pass English (2,038) for No. 1 in that category. Additionally, he is 33 steals away from passing English (854) for No. 3 in that statistic.

In the shooting categories, Jokić is 676-for-1,933 on 3-pointers in his career, which ranks No. 4 in team history. He needs 129 3-pointers and 288 3-point attempts to pass Will Barton (804-for-2,220) for No. 2 in team history. Jokić is also 5,450-for-9,778 overall from the field with Denver, ranking No. 2 and No. 4, respectively, in both statistics. He won’t pass English (8,953) in field goals this season, but needs 1,100 field goal attempts to supplant Carmelo Anthony (10,877) for No. 2.

Lastly, Jokić is 2,563-for-3,099 on free throws in his career, ranking No. 4 and No. 5, respectively. Anthony’s 3,582 free throws are more than 1,000 ahead of Jokić, but he needs 65 free throw attempts to pass David Thompson (3,163) for No. 4.

• Jamal Murray is Denver’s all-time leader in 3-pointers made and attempted and in the team’s Top 10 in scoring (8,187 points), assists (2,106) and field goals made (3,020) and attempted (6,678).

This season, Murray will easily move into the Top 10 in games played as he needs six to pass Lafayette Lever (474) for that spot. Murray appeared in 59 games last season and a similar-type campaign would also move him ahead of Barton (479) for No. 9.

Murray has a long way to go to reach the Top 5 in scoring (he trails Thompson by 1,648 points) and assists (he trails Ty Lawson by 640 assists). Those marks are likely out of reach in 2024-25 for Murray, but needs 603 field goal attempts to pass Lever (7,280) for No. 5 in that statistic. In 2023-24, Murray put up 986 shots and, provided he’s healthy, should be able to replicate that in 2024-25.

Detroit Pistons

No players are within reach of a significant statistical team milestone in 2024-25.

Golden State Warriors

• Big man Draymond Green has a chance to make a dent in the Warriors’ record book this season. To be clear, many of the key categories in team history are already led by Stephen Curry. The guard is the Warriors’ all-time leader in games played, points, assists, steals, 3-pointers made, 3-point attempts and free throw percentage.

Green, though, ranks No. 2 in games played, No. 1 in defensive rebounds and can move up to No. 2 in assists in 2024-25. Green’s 4,565 assists put him 291 assists away from passing Guy Rodgers (4,855) for the No. 2 spot. Last season, Green had 332 assists and has not had less than 320 assists in a season since 2019-20.

In rebounding, Green ranks No. 7 with 5,673 boards, just behind No. 5 Paul Arizin (6,129) and No. 6 Neil Johnston (5,856). He needs at least 457 total rebounds in 2024-25 to pass Arizin for No. 5, a reachable mark considering Green has amassed 398 rebounds in 2023-24 and will likely be tasked with more rebounding work this season.

Blocks-wise, Green is No. 3 with 818 in his career. He needs 20 blocks this season to surpass Joe Barry Carroll (837) for No. 2. In his career, Green has only two seasons — 2021-13 and 2019-20 — where he notched 33 blocks or less and had 47 blocks in 2023-24.

Lastly, Green can move to No. 3 in 3-pointers made this season as well. With 662 career 3-pointers, Green needs 39 3-pointers to pass Jason Richardson (770) for No. 3. Last season, Green made 51 3-pointers and last has hit 39 or more 3-pointers in three of his last six seasons.

Houston Rockets

• Jalen Green enjoyed a breakout season in 2023-24 as a 3-point shooter as he hit 201 3-pointers, a career best. He broke into the Rockets’ Top 10 in career 3-pointers made and attempted and can reach the Top 5 this season in both categories.  Green needs 186 more 3-pointers and 191 more 3-point attempts this season to rank No. 4 in Rockets history in makes and No. 5 in attempts. Overall last season, Green was 201-for-605 on 3-pointers and has never shot less than 458 3-pointers in a season in his career.

If he reaches No. 4 in 3-pointers made, Green would pass Matt Bullard (No. 7, 557), Shane Battier (No. 8, 557) and Cuttino Mobley (No. 5, 672) and Vernon Maxwell (No. 4, 730) while he would pass Mobley (1,807) for No. 5 in attempts.

Indiana Pacers

• Last season, Myles Turner became the team’s all-time leading shot blocker. In 2024-25, Turner can move to No. 5 in total rebounds in Pacers history as he needs 617 rebounds to surpass Herb Williams (4,494) for that slot. In 2023-24, Turner had a solid all-around campaign and finished with 533 rebounds, his most since 2018-19. Turner flirted with 600 rebounds in 2016-17 (589) and a jump to nearly 620 rebounds may be a stretch given past production.

Additionally, Turner needs 95 free throw attempts to pass Paul George for No. 10 in that statistic. Him doing so seems a near certainty as he attempted a career-best 317 free throws in 2023-24 and has never attempted less than 105 free throws in a season.

LA Clippers

• Injuries have often short-circuited (or altogether snuffed out) seasons for Kawhi Leonard with the Clippers. Provided he stays healthy this season and produces as he normally has, Leonard can move into the team’s Top 10 in points, assists, steals and free throws made.

Leonard has 5,687 career points and is 746 points away from passing Ken Norman (6,432) for No. 10 on the Clippers’ all-time scoring list. That total seems like a given considering Leonard has never scored less than 1,292 points in a season in L.A. and amassed 1,613 points last season. Another season of around 1,600 points would push him past Danny Manning (7,120) for No. 7. Along the way to No. 10, Leonard would pass Chris Kaman (No. 13, 5,813), Ron Harper (No. 12, 5,853), Paul George (No. 11, 6,049) and Norman. To reach No. 7, Leonard would also pass Loy Vaught (No. 9, 6,614) and DeAndre Jordan (No. 8, 7,078).

In assists, Leonard ranks No. 20 (997) and needs 401 more assists to pass Pooh Richardson (1,397) for No. 10. Last season, Leonard amassed 416 assists and had 402 in his first season with the Clippers (2019-20), too. Along the way to Richardson, Leonard would pass No. 19 Brian Taylor (1,024), No. 18 Jeff McInnis (1,036), No. 17 Manning (1,132), No. 16 Bob Kauffman (1,189), No. 15 George (1,191), No. 14 Lamar Odom (1,200), No. 13 Corey Maggette (1,229), No. 12 Elton Brand (1,242) and No. 11 Lou Williams (1,328).

With 367 career steals with the Clippers, Leonard is No. 15 in that category entering 2024-25. He stands 55 steals away from passing No. 10 Maggette (421) for that perch. In his four seasons with the Clippers, Leonard has surpassed 100 steals in a season twice (including last season’s 111). Another season of 100 steals would have him closing in on the Top 5 in team history. Provided he reaches No. 10, Leonard would also pass No. 14 Michael Brooks (374), No. 13 George (393), No. 12 Norman (403) and No. 11 Garfield Heard (412).

Leonard’s 1,113 free throws made ranks No. 15 in team history and reaching the Top 10 seems certain in 2024-25. He needs 160 free throws to supplant Benoit Benjamin (1,272) for that spot. In his Clippers career, Leonard has averaged 315 free throws per season and a total at that mark would have him closing in on a Top 5 spot soon. Along the way to No. 10, Leonard will pass No. 14 Jamal Crawford (1,141), No. 13 Harper (1,195), No. 12 World B. Free (1,226) and No. 11 Williams (1,252).

Should Leonard hit that 315 free throws, he’d pass No. 9 Smith (1,335), No. 8 Jordan (1,357) and No. 14 Manning (1,413). Leonard needs 928 free throws entering 2024-25 to pass Bob McAdoo (2,040) for No. 5 in team history.

• Ivica Zubac can enter the Clippers’ Top 10 in games played if he appears in 50 games this season, pushing him past Ken Norman (439) for that spot. Along the way, Zubac will pass No. 12 Benoit Benjamin (406) and No. 11 Chris Paul (409).

Additionally, Zubac can move into the Top 5 in offensive rebounds this season, too. He is 96 offensive rebounds from overtaking No. 5 Swen Nater (1,191) for that spot and 106 offensive rebounds from passing No. 4 Blake Griffin (1,201). Last season, Zubac amassed 196 offensive rebounds and has recorded 215 or more offensive rebounds in two of his last three seasons.

Los Angeles Lakers

• LeBron James can move to No. 10 in Lakers’ scoring history this season as he needs 1,166 points to pass Jamaal Wilkes (10,601) for that spot. James (9,436) scored 1,822 points in 2023-24 and a season with that total puts him well ahead of Wilkes and moves him within about 1,000 points of No. 9 Byron Scott (12,780).

James can also move into the Top 15 in steals this season, too. He is No. 20 with 410 steals with the Lakers and needs 72 steals to pass Kurt Rambis (481) for No. 15. Along the way, James would pass No. 19 Rick Fox (415), No. 18 Elden Campbell (426), No. 17 Lamar Odom (444) and No. 16 Metta World Peace (453).

Lastly, James is No. 3 in Lakers history in both 3-pointers made (794) and attempted (2,225), trailing Derek Fisher (846-for-2,255) in both categories. James can pass Fisher for No. 2 in 3-pointers made and attempted with 53 3-pointers and 31 attempts. Last season, James was 149-for-363 on 3-pointers and been under 100 3-pointers made since 2015-16. Lakers icon Kobe Bryant is No. 1 in both 3-point categories (1,827-for-5,546), more than double James’ total in both statistics.

Additionally, James can rise to No. 3 in 3-pointers made and attempted this season as James has made 645 3-pointers on 1,862 attempts in his four seasons with the Lakers. That puts him 106 makes and 201 attempts away from Nick Van Exel (750/2062). In his Lakers career, James has never made less than 104 3-pointers or attempted less than 285 3-pointers in a season. Last season, he was 121-for-377 on 3-pointers.

Memphis Grizzlies

• Desmond Bane can move into the Grizzlies’ Top 10 in scoring this season with relative ease. He has 4,253 points, which ranks No. 14, but needs to score 750 points to usurp Dillon Brooks (5,002) for No. 10 in points scored. Bane scored 997 points last season as he battled injury and passed 1,200 points in the two seasons prior when he was more healthy and had Ja Morant available to draw the defense’s attention, too.

Bane also has an outside shot at moving to No. 10 in assists as well. With 810 career assists, Bane is No. 15 in Grizzlies history and needs 272 assists to pass Shareef Abdur-Rahim (1,081) for No. 10. In his four seasons, Bane has never posted more than 254 assists in a season (2022-23), but the jump from that number to 272 is not particularly vast and certainly seems possible if he’s healthy all season. Along the way, Bane would pass No. 13 Shane Battier (4,275), No. 12 O.J. Mayo (4,584) and No. 11 Bryant Reeves (4,945).

Lastly, Bane can crack the Top 10 in field goals made in team history, too, in 2024-25. Bane has 1,552 field goals (No. 14) and needs 448 field goals to surpass Bryant Reeves (1,999) for No. 10. Bane made 360 field goals in 2023-24, but in the two seasons prior, had 450 and 508 field goals, respectively. He would also pass No. 13 Tony Allen (1,663), No. 12 Mayo (1,708) and No. 11 Brooks (1,875).

• All-Star guard Ja Morant can move to No. 3 in assists this season and, provided he has a breakout season passing, could rise as high as No. 2. Morant (1,903 assists) is 167 assists away from passing Jason Williams (2,069) for No. 3 and needs 737 assists to pass Marc Gasol (2,639) for No. 2. Injuries and a 25-game suspension limited Morant to nine games and 73 assists in 2023-24. However, when healthy, Morant has never posted less than 325 assists in a season. His single-season career high is 493 assists in 2022-23, so he’d require a significant jump in assist production to overtake Gasol.

• Big man Jaren Jackson Jr. is already in the team’s Top 10 in points, blocks, 3-pointers made and attempted, field goals made and attempted and field goals made and attempted. This season, he needs to play in at least 63 games to move to No. 10 and pass Bryant Reeves (395). Jackson has played in 63 or more games for the last three seasons and should he do so again, he’d also pass No. 13 Lorenzen Wright (336), No. 12 Dillon Brooks (345) and No. 11 Shareef Abdur-Rahim (375) along the way.

A former Kia Defensive Player of the Year winner, Jackson is deft at both gathering blocks and steals. His 664 blocks are No. 3 in team history, but he is 214 away from passing Pau Gasol for No. 2 in that category. He has never totaled more than 189 blocks in a season, so that mark is at least two seasons away.

In terms of steals, Jackson’s 322 swipes rank No. 11 in team history and he needs just four more to pass Brooks (325) for No. 10. Last season, Jackson had 80 steals and has had at least 65 steals in each of his last three seasons. Another season of 65 steals would push him past No. 9 O.J. Mayo (333) and No. 8 Jason Williams (372).

Jackson and Bane can both keep moving up the 3-pointers made and attempted list as well this season. Jackson is No. 5 in 3-pointers made (558) and No. 4 in 3-pointers attempted while Bane is No. 3 in makes (648) and No. 5 in attempts (1,561). Bane needs 197 3-pointers to pass Mike Miller (844) for No. 2 and 115 attempts to pass Brooks (1,675) for No. 3. Bane last made 197 or more 3-pointers in 2021-22 (when he hit 228) and has never attempted less than 271 3-pointers in a season in his career.

Jackson is 16 3-pointers from passing Brooks for No. 4 and 287 from passing Miller for No. 3. In 3-point attempts, Jackson is 57 from passing Brooks for No. 3 and 393 from passing Miller for No. 2. Jackson has made 100 or more 3-pointers in each of the last three seasons and attempted more than 393 3-pointers in 2021-22 (when he had 401 3-point attempts).

Miami Heat

• Aside from 3-pointers made and attempted, All-Star big man Bam Adebayo ranks in the Top 5 in nearly every category in Heat history. In 2024-25, he can reach the Top 5 in assists, offensive rebounds, blocks, field goal attempts and free throws made and attempted.

Adebayo has 1,707 assists in his career with Miami, which ranks No. 7 overall. He needs at least 274 assists in 2024-25 to move ahead of LeBron James (1980) for the No. 5 spot. Last season, Adebayo amassed 278 assists and has posted two seasons with 340 or more assists in his career. Aside from passing James, Adebayo would also move ahead of Bimbo Coles (1,961) at No. 6, too.

In the offensive rebounds department, Adebayo has 1,081 of them with Miami, which ranks No. 7. He needs 76 offensive rebounds to pass Dwyane Wade (1,156) for the No. 5 spot. Adebayo has never logged less than 118 offensive rebounds in a season and had 159 offensive rebounds last season. Aside from passing Wade, Adebayo would also move ahead of No. 6 Hassan Whiteside (1,107), too.

To reach No. 5 in blocks, Adebayo needs at least 21 swats to move ahead of Joel Anthony (456) for that peg. While he’s not an outstanding shot-blocker, Adebayo is consistent: he has posted at least 61 blocks in five of his seven NBA seasons (he had 66 in 2023-24).

Given his role as an offensive cog for the Heat, Adebayo is a near lock to move into the Top 5 in field goal attempts and free throws made and attempted. Adebayo has 5,270 field goal attempts and needs 187 field goal attempts to surpass Udonis Haslem (5,462) for No. 5. In terms of free throws, Adebayo is 1,714-for-2,270 in his career, putting him 19 free throws and 16 free throw attempts to move ahead of James (1,732-for-2,285) for No. 5 in both categories. Last season, Adebayo was 292-for-387 on free throws and another such season would put him within range of No. 4 Rony Seikaly (1,766) in free throws made and No. 3 Seikaly in attempts (2,669).

• Swingman Tyler Herro is No. 3 in team lore in 3-pointers made and attempted (733-for-1,904) and can move to No. 2 in both categories this season. He needs 74 more 3-pointers and 360 3-point attempts to surpass Tim Hardaway (806-for-2,263) for No. 2 in both categories. Last season, Herro was 132-for-333 on 3-pointers despite playing in just 42 games.

Additionally, Herro can move into the Top 10 in points and assists as well this season. His 5,147 points rank No. 14 and he needs 1,189 points to pass Hardaway (6,335) for No. 10 and needs 117 assists to pass Eddie Jones (1,152) for No. 10 in that category. Injuries last season limited Herro to 875 points and 188 assists, but in his last healthy season — 2022-23 — he notched 1,347 points and 280 assists. Along the way, Herro will pass No. 13 Grant Long (5,473), No. 12 Eddie Jones (6,194) and No. 11 Jimmy Butler (6,204) — provided Butler doesn’t move up the ranks as well — in points. In assists, he’ll surpass No. 13 Anthony Carter (1,063), No. 12 Glen Rice (1,067) and No. 11 Kevin Edwards (1,131).

• Star swingman Jimmy Butler can move into the Heat’s top 10 in points and Top 5 in steals season. Butler ranks No. 11 in scoring with 6,204 points and needs 134 more points to move ahead of No. 10 Tim Hardaway (6,335). Getting past Hardaway shouldn’t be an issue for Butler: he scored 1,246 points last season and has never scored less than 1,116 points in any season with Miami.

As for the assists mark, Butler has 1,669 assists in his career with Miami and is neck and neck with Adebayo in the race for No. 5. Butler needs 312 assists to move past LeBron James (1,980) for No. 5 in assists. Butler’s 298 assists last season were his lowest in a season with Miami, but in the five seasons prior, he posted at least 312 assists each season. It will be interesting to see if Adebayo or Butler passes James first for the No. 5 spot.

Milwaukee Bucks

• Former Kia MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo ranks No. 1 in many categories in team lore including games played, points, assists, defensive rebounds, rebounds, blocks, field goals made and attempted and free throws made and attempted. This season, Antetokounmpo can become the Bucks’ all-time leader in offensive rebounds, too. His 1,452 offensive boards are just 17 shy of Marques Johnson’s all-time team mark of 1,468. Antetokounmpo has logged 134 or more offensive rebounds in seven of his last eight seasons.

• Swingman Khris Middleton is in the Top 3 in many statistics in team lore, too. Provided he is fully healthy and has a season on par with his ,  already Milwaukee’s all-time leader in 3-pointers made (1,253) and attempted (3,219). This season, he can move into the Top 5 in field goals made and free throws made. Middleton has 4,149 made field goals in his Bucks career and needs 398 more field goals to surpass No. 6 Marques Johnson (4,546) on the team’s all-time list. Injuries limited Middleton to 33 games (and 177 field goals) last season, but in his last healthy season (2021-22), he notched 452 field goals. Over his last four healthy seasons, Middleton has averaged 485 made field goals and a season with that many would have him closing in on No. 4 Glenn Robinson (4,723).

In free throws, Middleton is 1,917-for-2,173 in his Bucks career, which ranks him sixth and tenth, respectively, in free throws made and attempted. He needs 154 free throws to pass Robinson (2,070) for No. 5 in that category. In the 2021-22 season, Middleton was 259-for-291 from the line and similar stats in 2023-24 would put him in line to pursue Abdul-Jabbar for No. 4 in makes (2,407) and Johnson (2,554) for No. 5 in attempts in the coming seasons.

• Fan favorite reserve forward Bobby Portis can move into the Top 10 in 3-pointers made and attempted and the Top 15 in total rebounds in team history. Portis is 402-for-998 on 3-pointers in his career with Milwaukee, ranking 12th in 3-pointers made and 13th in 3-pointers attempted. This season, he needs at least 31 3-pointers made and 189 3-point attempts to pass Charlie Bell (432-for-1,186) for No. 10. Portis was 100-for-246 last season on 3-pointers and has never been worse than his 74-for-157 season in 2020-21.

Portis’ 2,402 total rebounds is No. 17 in Bucks history, but he is just 241 rebounds from passing Junior Bridgeman (2,642) for the No. 15 slot. Portis grabbed 607 rebounds last season, his third straight with at least 600 and should he come close to his 2023-24 totals, he’d also pass Ervin Johnson (3,050) for No. 14 in total rebounds.

Minnesota Timberwolves

• All-Star guard Anthony Edwards dazzled in 2023-24, earning All-NBA honors as he enjoyed a career-best season. He enters his fifth NBA campaign with a chance to move into Minnesota’s Top 10 in games played and rebounds and its Top 5 in points, assists, steals and field goals.

Edwards has never appeared in less than 72 games in any season and ranks No. 15 in Wolves history with 302 games played. He needs to play in at least 36 games to surpass Doug West (337) for No. 10. Along the way, he’d also pass No. 13 Trenton Hassell, No. 14 Rasho Nesterovic (316), No. 13 Naz Reid (326, still active) and No. 11 Corey Brewer. A season with 72 games would also have Edwards on the cusp of passing Anthony Peeler (379) for No. 9.

The chase for No. 10 in rebounding (Andrew Wiggins, 1,922) isn’t out of reach for Edwards in 2024-25. He is No. 15 with 1,567 rebounds and needs 356 rebounds to push past Wiggins for No. 10. Last season, Edwards amassed 430 rebounds and has posted at least 336 rebounds in each of his seasons. In reaching No. 10, Edwards would also pass No. 14 Nesterovic (1,711), No. 13 Ricky Rubio (1,721), No. 12 Rudy Gobert (1,796, still active) and No. 11 Nikola Pekovic (1,807).

Points-wise, Edwards’ 6,920 has him at No. 6 in team lore and needs at least 70 points this season to move ahead of Kevin Love (6,989) for No. 5. Edwards scored 2,046 points last season and had 1,946 the season before. In short, he needs 1,781 points in 2024-25 to pass Wiggins (8,710) for No. 3. Should he approach that total, he’d also pass No. 4 Sam Mitchell (7,161) along the way.

Edwards is No. 7 on the Wolves’ assists list with 1,241 dimes. This season, Edwards needs at least 441 assists to pass Terrell Brandon (1,681) for No. 5. Accomplishing this feat might further stretch Edwards’ game. He notched a career-high 405 assists in 79 games last season, meaning he’d have to jump from 5.1 apg to 5.6 apg in 79 games this season.

In field goals, Edwards ranks No. 7 (2,479) and needs 156 field goals to pass Wally Szczerbiak (2,634) for No. 5. Last season, Edwards notched his second straight campaign with at least 700 field goals as he made a career-best 718. If he ups that total to 740, he would pass Wiggins for No. 3 (3,218). Should he reach No. 3 this season, Edwards will pass No. 4 Mitchell (2,664) and No. 6 Doug West (2,530), too.

• Rudy Gobert, the reigning Kia Defensive Player of the Year, has spent just two seasons with the Wolves but is on the cusp of entering the team’s Top 10 in rebounds and Top 5 in blocks.

Gobert has amassed 1,796 rebounds with Minnesota, which ranks No. 12 overall, and he needs at least 127 rebounds to move ahead of No. 10 Andrew Wiggins (1,922). Gobert had 982 rebounds last season and has surpassed 960 rebounds in three of his last four seasons. Aside from being close to No. 10 overall in rebounds, Gobert needs at least 430 rebounds to pass Christian Laettner (2,225) for No. 6 overall.

In Minnesota, Gobert has logged 257 blocked shots, which ranks 13th in team history. He needs just nine more blocks to pass Joe Smith (265) for No. 10 and needs 44 blocks to pass No. 5 Al Jefferson (300). Gobert recorded 162 blocks last season and has had 135 blocks or more in three of his past five seasons. Should he climb to No. 5, Gobert would pass No. 12 Wiggins (261), No. 11 Sam Mitchell (262), No. 10 Smith (265), No. 9 Felton Spencer (266), No. 8 Eddie Griffin (273), No. 7 Naz Reid (295, still active) and No. 6 Laettner (299).

• Reigning Kia Sixth Man of the Year winner Naz Reid enjoyed a career season in 2023-24 and has some history in range in 2024-25. Reid can move into the Wolves’ Top 15 in points and field goals, the Top 10 in games played and the Top 5 in blocks, free throws and free throws attempted.

Reid is 18th in team history with 3,561 points, putting him 375 points from No. 15 Gorgui Dieng (3,935). Last season, Reid amassed 1,090 points and has scored at least 637 points in each of his last four seasons. Another season with roughly 1,000 points would push Reid as high as No. 11, supplanting Isaiah Rider (4,315). Should he reach Rider, Reid would pass No. 17 Anthony Peeler (3,622), No. 16 Pooh Richardson (3,689), No. 15 Dieng (3,935), No. 14 Al Jefferson (4,183), No. 13 Tom Gugliotta (4,201) and No. 12 Ricky Rubio (4,235).

In terms of field goals made, Reid is No. 17 with 1,353 and he needs at least 159 field goals to pass Dieng for No. 15 (1,511). Reid had 406 field goals last season and has topped 300 field goals in two of his last three seasons. Reid has also appeared in 326 games with Minnesota, which ranks 11th, and must play in at least 39 games to pass Kevin Love for No. 10 (364).

Blocks-wise, Reid ranks No. 7 in Wolves lore with 295 and needs just five blocks to pass Jefferson (300) for No. 5. As one of the NBA’s shot-blockers as a reserve, Reid has posted 73, 53, 71 and 76 blocks in his last four seasons. To surpass No. 4 Rasho Nesterovic (373), Reid needs at least 79 blocks this season.

Lastly, Reid is 1,353-for-2,728 from the field in his Wolves career, ranking No. 17 and No. 20, respectively, in those categories. He needs 159 field goals to pass Dieng (1,511) for No. 15 in that statistic and needs 643 field goal attempts to pass Peeler (3,370) for No. 15 in that statistic. Last season, Reid was 406-for-851 overall from the field. Reid needs 414 field goals to surpass Jefferson (1,766) for No. 10 in makes and needs 843 field goal attempts to pass Rider for No. 10 in attempts.

New Orleans Pelicans

• Brandon Ingram is heading into his sixth season with New Orleans and could finish in the Top 3 in points, field goals made and attempted and 3-pointers made and attempted. He can also move into the team’s Top 10 in steals and blocks.

Ingram has scored 6,617 points with the Pelicans, which ranks No. 5 overall. However, he needs just Jones has 233 steals, which ranks tied for eighth (with Al-Farouq Aminu). He must score at least 1,320 points in 2024-25 to move past No. 4 Jrue Holiday (7,321) and No. 3 Chris Paul (7,736) on the all-time list. Ingram played in 64 games last season and amassed 1,332 points, which puts passing both players well within range.

With 2,377 field goals on 5,032 attempts, Ingram is No. 5 in both categories in team history. Holiday is No. 3 (2,876-for-6,225) and Paul is No. 4 (2,793-for-5,929) and this season, Ingram needs 500 field goals and 1,194 attempts to pass both players and take over No. 3. Last season, Ingram was 500-for-1,017 and the last time he had than 1,100 field goal attempts was 2020-21 (1,101).

Ingram is No. 11 in steals in team history (219) and No. 12 in blocks (159). This season, he needs seven steals to pass Eric Gordon (225) for No. 10 and eight blocks to pass Jaxson Hayes (167) for No. 10. A similar season to 2023-24 for Ingram (50 steals, 40 blocks) would push him to around No. 8 in both categories.

• Guard CJ McCollum and Ingram will be in a race to see who can become the Pelicans’ all-time 3-point leader first. McCollum is No. 4 in team history with 521 3-pointers, while Ingram is not far behind with 517. In attempts, Ingram is No. 3 (1,391) while McCollum (1,280) is No. 5. Jrue Holiday is the Pelicans’ all-time leader in 3-pointers made (628) and attempted (1,817).

McCollum needs at least 108 3-pointers and Ingram needs 112 to pass Holiday for No. 1 in 3s made. In attempts, Ingram needs 427 attempts to pass Holiday for No. 1, while McCollum needs 538. Last season, Ingram was 86-for-242 on 3-pointers while McCollum went 239-for-557. Despite Ingram having a lead in attempts and being close in makes, the smart money would be on McCollum to break the record first.

McCollum needs at least 254 assists this season to pass Tyreke Evans (1,139) for No. 4 on the team’s all-time assists list. In his two full seasons with New Orleans, McCollum has never notched less than 305 assists in a single season, which puts this record well within reach. McCollum is also 62 steals from passing Eric Gordon (225) for No. 10 and 68 from passing Al-Farouq Aminu (233) for No. 9. This is another stat within reasonable reach for McCollum as he had 62 steals in 2023-24 and 70 in 2022-23.

• Rising forward Trey Murphy III can enter the team’s Top 10 in scoring and its Top 5 in 3-pointers made and attempted in 2024-25. Murphy has scored 2,324 points with New Orleans, which ranks No. 18, and he needs at least 1,067 points to pass Eric Gordon (3,390) for No. 10. Murphy played in only 57 games last season, scoring 842 points, but in 2022-23 — when he played in 79 games — he scored 1,148 points. Health will clearly be a factor in his ability to get into the Top 10 in scoring.

One of the NBA’s more reliable 3-point shooters, Murphy is No. 6 in Pelicans history in 3-pointers made (442) and attempted (1,128). Depending on how Ingram and McCollum fare in their 3-point chase, Murphy will likely be pursuing Ryan Anderson (533) for No. 5 in 3-pointers made and Peja Stojakovic (1,369) for No. 5 in attempts. Murphy must make at least 92 3-pointers and attempt at least 242 to pass Anderson and Stojakovic. Murphy has made 169 or more 3-pointers in each of the last two seasons and attempted at least 445 3-pointers per season in that span as well.

New York Knicks

• All-NBA guard Jalen Brunson has some 3-point history of his own afoot in 2024-25. In his time with New York, Brunson ranks No. 16 in 3-pointers made (345) and No. 17 in 3-point attempts (848). This season, he needs 143 more 3-pointers to pass Immanuel Quickley (487) for No. 10 and 384 3-point attempts to pass No. 10 Trent Tucker (1,231) in team history. In his breakout 2023-24 season, Brunson was 211-for-526 on 3-pointers and expecting similar stats from him this season is realistic. Along the way, Brunson will pass No. 15 Stephon Marbury (349), No. 14 Quentin Richardson (351), No. 13 Latrell Sprewell (385), No. 12 Nate Robinson (414) and No. 11 JR Smith (443) in 3-point makes and No. 16 Al Harrington (851), No. 15 Richardson (993), No. 14 Marbury (1,004), No. 13 Sprewell (1,102), No. 12 Robinson (1,172) and No. 11 Smith (1,199) in attempts.

Oklahoma City Thunder

• All-NBA First Team guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander continued his rise in 2023-24 and has a chance to move into the Thunder’s Top 10 in scoring, assists, field goals made and attempted and 3-pointers made and attempted. Gilgeous-Alexander is No. 13 in scoring (7,921 points) and amassed 2,254 points in 2023-24. He can move to No. 10 in scoring and pass Xavier McDaniel (8,438) with 518 points.

If he scores around 2,400 points in 2024-25, Gilgeous-Alexander could move past Rashard Lewis (10,251) for No. 6. Should he reach No. 6, Gilgeous-Alexander will pass No. 12 Tom Chambers (8,028), No. 11 Spencer Haywood (8,131), No. 10 McDaniel, No. 9. Dale Ellis (9,405), No. 8 Gus Williams (9,676) and No. 7 Shawn Kemp (10,148).

Gilgeous-Alexander has amassed 1,606 dimes and ranks 15th in team history. He needs 200 assists to pass Luke Ridnour (1,805) for No. 10 in Thunder history. Last season, Gilgeous-Alexander had a career-best 465 assists, but needs at least 669 assists to move past Slick Watts (2,274) for No. 9.

In field goals, Gilgeous-Alexander is No. 13 in field goals made (2,742) and No. 14 in attempts (5,500). He needs at least 755 field goals to pass No. 10 McDaniel (3,496) and needs 1,555 field goal attempts to pass Kemp for No. 10 in that category. Last season, Gilgeous-Alexander was 796-for-1,487, which means he’ll have to up his production in the attempts category to pass Kemp.

As far as 3-pointers, Gilgeous-Alexander ranks No. 13 in team history (500-for-1,155) and needs 137 3-pointers and 212 attempts to pass No. 10 Paul George (536-for-1,366) in both categories. Last season, Gilgeous-Alexander was 95-for-269 on 3-pointers and needs a slight uptick in 3-pointers made to pass George in 2024-25.

Orlando Magic

• All-Star forward Paolo Banchero enjoyed a breakout season in 2023-24 and can move into the team’s Top 10 in free throws made and attempted this season. Banchero ranks No. 15 in both categories with 799 free throws and 1,093 attempts in his career. This season, he needs at least 294 free throws to pass Jameer Nelson (1,092) for No. 10 in that category and needs at least 227 attempts to pass No. 10 Scott Skiles (1,319). Last season, Banchero was 405-for-559 on free throws, putting both No. 10 spots within reach.

• Guard Cole Anthony can move into the Magic’s Top 10 in assists this season. He has 1,032 assists with Orlando (No. 15) and is 269 assists away from passing Evan Fournier (1,300) for No. 10. Anthony recorded 236 assists last season and last surpassed 269 assists in 2021-22 when he had 369 assists. Along the way, Anthony would pass No. 14 Dennis Scott (1,034), No. 13 Brian Shaw (1,061), No. 12 Aaron Gordon (1,069), No. 11 D.J. Augustin (1,184) and Fournier.

• Big man Wendell Carter is on the cusp of the team’s Top 10 in total rebounds this season. Carter is No. 12 overall with 1,719 rebounds and needs at least 320 rebounds to pass Jameer Nelson (2,038) for No. 10. In 2023-24, Carter collected 381 rebounds, which was his lowest amount in the last three seasons.

Philadelphia 76ers

• Injuries short-circuited a standout season for Joel Embiid in 2023-24, but if he’s fully healthy in 2024-25, he could move into the Top 5 in scoring, free throws made, free throws attempted, 3-pointers made and 3-pointers attempted. Embiid has scored 12,071 points with Philadelphia, which ranks him seventh, and he needs at least  2,114 points to surpass No. 5 Charles Barkley (14,184). Embiid scored 2,183 points in 2022-23 (the last season he was healthy) and 2,079 points the season before that, which would make passing Barkley a more than attainable feat. In passing Barkley, Embiid would also move past No. 6 Billy Cunningham (13,626) in scoring as well.

The gap between Embiid in 3-pointers made history and No. 5 Andre Iguodala is also fairly slim. Embiid has made 509 3-pointers in his career, which ranks No. 7 and needs 55 more 3-pointers to pass Iguodala (563) No. 5. In terms of 3-point attempts, Embiid is No. 6 in team history with 1,491 and needs at least 67 3-point attempts in 2024-25 to pass Tobias Harris (1,557) for No. 5. Embiid has never attempted less than 98 3-pointers in a season and had 200 or more 3-point attempts in two of his last three seasons.

In terms of free throws, Embiid’s 3,608 makes ranks No. 6 and his 4,369 attempts ranks No. 7. He needs at least 237 free throws to pass Julius Erving (3,844) for No. 5 and at least 582 attempts to pass Erving (4,950) for No. 5 in that category as well. Last season, Embiid was 399-for-452 on free throws and 661-for-771 the season prior. Should he match those 2022-23 stats, Embiid has a chance to move up in free throws made as he’s just 313 away from Barkley at No. 4 (3,920).

• Embiid will likely be in a race with teammate Tyrese Maxey for the various 3-point records. Maxey has 535 career 3-pointers and needs 29 more 3-pointers to pass Iguodala for No. 5. Last season, Embiid made 54 3-pointers in 39 games and, the season prior, had 66 3-pointers in 66 games. As for Maxey, he made a career-best 212 3-pointers last season.

Should Maxey match last season’s production, he’d break into the Top 3 in 3-pointers made in team history. Maxey needs at least 190 3-pointers to pass Robert Covington (724) for No. 2 in team history. Along the way, he’d pass No. 5 Andre Iguodala (563), No. 4 Tobias Harris (575) and No. 3 Kyle Korver (661).

In terms of 3-point attempts, Maxey is No. 8 with 1,350. He must take at least 208 3-pointers this season to move ahead of Harris for No. 5. Last season, Maxey put up a career-high 569 3-pointers and has shot at least 309 3-pointers in each of his last three seasons. He needs at least 351 3-point attempts in 2024-25 to move past Iguodala (1,700) for No. 3 in that statistic. Along the way, Maxey would pass No. 5 Harris and No. 4 Korver (1,618).

Portland Trail Blazers

• Guard Anfernee Simons saw his 2023-24 season get derailed at times by injury. That said, he still managed to be productive (22.6 ppg, 3.6 rpg, 5.5 apg) in a career-best season. A career 38.6% 3-point shooter, Simons enters 2024-25 at No. 5 in Blazers history in 3-pointers made (752) and No. 7 in 3-point attempts (1,946). He needs at least 75 3-pointers and at least 151 3-point attempts to move past Wesley Matthews (826-for-2,096) at No. 3 in both categories. Last season, Simons was 156-for-405 on 3-pointers despite playing in just 46 games. In 2022-23, he went 212-for-562 on 3-pointers while playing in 62 games. Should Simons move up to No. 3 in both categories, he’d pass No. 4 Terry Porter (773) in 3-pointers made and No. 6 Damon Stoudamire (1,998), No. 5 Porter (2,006) and No. 4 Nicolas Batum (2,071) in 3-point attempts, too.

Phoenix Suns

• Phoenix opens its 2024-25 season fresh off seeing franchise icon Walter Davis enter the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame weeks earlier. It is fitting then that the team’s most well-known modern player, Devin Booker, can pass Davis in several categories this season. Most notably, Booker can become Phoenix’s all-time leading scorer while also moving to No. 2 in field goals made and attempted, No. 2 in free throws made, No. 4 in assists and No. 3 in free throw attempts.

Booker has scored 14,529 points with the Suns and needs at least 1,138 points in 2024-25 to pass Davis (15,666) for No. 1. Booker hasn’t scored less than 1,138 points since his rookie season (2015-16) and has scored 1,822 points or more in three of his last six seasons (including 1,841 points last season).

Assists-wise, Booker has 2,993 in his career, which ranks sixth in team history. He is just 19 assists from passing Jason Kidd (3,011) for No. 5 and must notch at least 348 assists to pass Davis (3,340) for No. 4. Booker had 472 assists last season (his most since his 456 in 2019-20) and had 329 assists in 2021-22, putting Davis’ mark well within reach. In terms of field goals made, Booker is No. 3 with 5,095 and needs 615 more field goals to pass Alvan Adams (5,709) in that category. Last season, Booker was 642-for-1,305 and has made at least 623 field goals in five of his last six seasons.

Lastly, in terms of free throws, Booker is third in that category (3,098) and needs 307 more free throws to pass Dick Van Arsdale (3,404) for No. 2. Last season, Booker sank 405 free throws and made at least 306 free throws in each of the last six seasons. Booker is at least another season away from moving to No. 1 in this statistic, though: Kevin Johnson (3,851) leads Booker by 754 free throws entering 2024-25.

Sacramento Kings

• Guard De’Aaron Fox is quietly climbing up the Kings’ all-time scoring, assists and steals list as he enters his eighth season in Sacramento. In 2024-25, Fox can move into the team’s Top 3 in steals, Top 5 in field goals made and attempted and the Top 10 in free throws made and attempted.

This season, he needs at least 53 steals to pass No. 2 Doug Christie (717) for that spot. Fox amassed a career-best 150 steals in 2023-24 and has had 74 or more steals in four of the last five seasons. To get to No. 1 in that category and pass Sam Lacey (950), Fox probably needs at least two more seasons of 143 steals or more. Should he pass Christie, Fox would also move ahead of Mitch Richmond (670) in steals as well.

Field goals-wise, Fox is 3,671-for-7,796 in his Kings career, which places him ninth and eighth, respectively, in those categories. He needs at least 276 field goals and 656 attempts to pass Nate Archibald (3,946-for-8,451) for No. 5 in team history. Fox set career highs in field goals made (720) and attempted (1,549) last season and a similar campaign in 2024-25 would move him past No. 3 Mitch Richmond in makes (4,230) and past Sam Lacey (9,280) for No. 4 in attempts. Should he do that, he’d pass No. 8 Chris Webber (3,691), No. 7 Eddie Johnson (3,723), No. 6 Scott Wedman (3,856) No. 5 Archibald and No. 4 Lacey (4,101) in makes. In attempts, he’d pass No. 7 Webber (7,807), No. 6 Wedman (7,911) and No. 5 Archibald.

As for free throws and free throw attempts, Fox has 1,901 free throws and 2,582 attempts, ranking No. 11 in both categories. He needs 44 more free throws and 30 more attempts to Wayne Embry in makes (1,944) and Adrian Smith (2,611) in attempts. Fox has shot at least 300 free throws and attempted at least 417 in three of his last four seasons. Last season, he was 312-for-423 and another season with 310 makes and 420 attempts would push him past Smith for No. 7 in makes (2,173) and past Bobby Wanzer (2,976) in attempts. Should that happen, Fox would pass No. 9 Bob Davies (2,010) and No. 8 Arnie Risen (2,023) in makes and No. 9 Davies (2,647) and No. 8 Risen (2,888) in attempts.

San Antonio Spurs

• Phenom Victor Wembanyama is fresh off a Kia Rookie of the Year campaign and already has a shot to rank No. 10 in blocks in team history. Wembanyama’s 254 blocks are No. 16 and he needs 117 this season to pass Rasho Nesterovic (370) for No. 10. Should Wembanyama match last season’s 250-block mark, he’d be within range of No. 6 George Johnson (512) in team history.

In passing Nesterovic, Wembanyama would also move ahead of No. 15 Sean Elliott, No. 14 Willie Anderson (279), No. 13 Kawhi Leonard (289) and No. 11 Manu Ginobili (319). Should he get around 250 blocks again this season, Wembanyama would move ahead of No. 9 Danny Green (450), No. 8 Jakob Pöltl (456) and No. 7 LaMarcus Aldridge (471).

• Forward Keldon Johnson has emerged as a reliable scorer for the Spurs over the past three seasons and can climb into the team’s Top 15 in points, field goals made and attempted this season. Johnson’s 4,782 points ranks No. 20 in team history and he needs to score 1,165 points to pass No. 15 Willie Anderson. Johnson scored 1,084 points in 2023-24 and getting to 1,165 points isn’t a large difference from last season’s pace. In reaching No. 15, Johnson will pass No. 19 Vinny Del Negro (4,844), No. 18 Johnny Moore (4,890), No. 17 Mark Olberding (4,999) and No. 16 Terry Cummings (5,181).

Johnson’s 1,756 field goals ranks 20th in team lore, while his 3,780 field goal attempts are 19th. He needs 453 field goals to pass No. 15 Artis Gilmore (2,208) in that category and is 766 field goal attempts from passing No. 15 Cummings (4,545). In 2023-24, Johnson was 391-for-862 overall from the field and another such season puts him well on pace to reach the Top 10 in both categories. Along the way, he’d pass No. 19 Olberding (1,765), No. 18 Del Negro (1,953), No. 17 Moore (1,998) and No. 16 Cummings (2,163) in field goals and No. 18 Green (3,989), No. 17 Del Negro (4,052) and No. 16 Moore (4,342) in attempts.

Toronto Raptors

• All-Star swingman Scottie Barnes enjoyed a breakout 2023-24 season and another such season could move him up the ranks in several categories. This season, Barnes can enter the Top 10 in assists, rebounds and blocks.

Barnes has 990 career assists with Toronto and needs at least 126 assists this season to move ahead of Chris Bosh (1,115) for No. 10 in that statistic. Barnes had 363 assists last season and has never had less than 256 assists in a season in his career.

In terms of rebounds, Barnes’ 1,563 ranks No. 15 and he needs 502 rebounds to pass Morris Peterson (2,064) for the No. 10 spot. Last season, Barnes’ 494 total rebounds were a career low as he had 512 and 557 rebounds, respectively, in the two seasons prior. Along the way to No. 15, Barnes would pass No. 14 Charles Oakley (1,655), No. 13 OG Anunoby (1,684), No. 12 Serge Ibaka (1,687) and, perhaps, teammate Chris Boucher at No. 11 (1,859).

Lastly, in blocked shots, Barnes is No. 16 with 204 swats and needs 78 blocks in 2024-25 to pass Serge Ibaka (281) for No. 15. Barnes had a career-best 88 blocks last season and is averaging 68 blocks per season in his career.

• Fan favorite reserve Chris Boucher is entering his seventh season in Toronto and has made his mark on the team record book. In 2024-25, Boucher can move into the Raptors’ Top 10 in games played and rebounds. Boucher’s 356 games played ranks No. 15 in team history and he needs to appear in at least 62 games to move ahead of Alvin Williams and Fred Van Vleet for sole possession of the No. 10 spot. Boucher appeared in just 50 games last season (his fewest since playing 62 games in 2019-20). However, Boucher has appeared in 62 or more games in three of his past five seasons, so his reaching 62 games seems solid. Along the way to No. 10, Boucher would pass No. 14 Teerrence Ross (363), No. 13 OG Anunoby (395) and No. 12 Vince Carter (403).

As a rebounder, Boucher is No. 11 overall with 1,859 in his time with Toronto. He must grab at least 206 rebounds this season to pass Morris Peterson (2,064) for the No. 10 spot. Last season, Boucher had 207 rebounds and has grabbed at least 404 rebounds in three of his last four seasons. Given how close both Barnes and Boucher are to the No. 10 spot in rebounding, it will be intriguing to see which player is ranked where in Raptors history at season’s end.

Utah Jazz

• Star forward Lauri Markkanen is No. 15 and 18, respectively, in 3-pointers made and attempted in team history. He has 375 career 3-pointers with Utah and needs 201 to pass Deron Williams (511) for No. 10 in that category. In attempts, Markkanen’s 950 puts him 409 away from passing Mehmet Okur (1,358) for No. 10. Last season, Markkanen was 175-for-439 on 3-pointers, but in his first season with Utah, he was 200-for-511.

If he reaches No. 10 in 3-pointers made, Markkanen will pass No. 14 Royce O’Neal (428), No. 13 Rodney Hood (439), No. 12 Jeff Hornacek (439) and No. 11 Mike Conley (480). If he gets to No. 10 in 3-point attempts, Markkanen will pass No. 17 Trey Burke (982), No. 16 CJ Miles (1,014), No. 15 Hornacek (1,025), No. 14 Andrei Kirilenko (1,060), No. 13 O’Neale (1,122), No. 12 Hood (1,188) and No. 11 Conley (1,218).

• Veteran guard Jordan Clarkson is already in the franchise’s Top 5 in 3-pointers made (737) and attempted (2,218). This season, he needs at least 109 3-pointers to pass John Stockton (845) for No. 2 in that category and needs 405 3-point attempts to pass Joe Ingles (2,622) for No. 2 in that category. Given Clarkson’s recent output, both could be within reach. Last season, Clarkson made 91 3-pointers, his lowest total since 2019-20 and put up 309 3-point attempts. Over the last three seasons, he has averaged 145 3-pointers made and 455 attempts per season. A season on pace with those statistics gives him a clear chance to snag the No. 2 spot in both statistical categories.

Clarkson ranks No. 19 in team history with 975 assists and needs 254 assists to move ahead of No. 15 Conley (1,228) for that spot. Last season, Clarkson totaled 277 assists and another such season would push him ahead of No. 18 Carlos Boozer (1,012), No. 17 Jim McElroy (1,112) and No. 16 Thurl Bailey (1,124).

• Defensive-minded center Walker Kessler has 327 blocks with Utah, which ranks No. 13 in team history. He needs 172 blocks in 2024-25 to pass No. 10 Rich Kelley (498) for that spot. Kessler’s shot blocking production dipped a bit in 2023-24 as he amassed 154 blocks after a 173-block rookie season. Should he pass Kelley, Kessler would also move ahead of No. 12 Al Jefferson (343) and No. 11 Okur (346) on the Jazz’s blocked shots list, too.

Washington Wizards

• Forwards Corey Kispert and Kyle Kuzma rank No. 7 and 8, respectively, in franchise history in 3-pointers made (459 for Kispert; 439 for Kuzma). Additionally, both are in the Top 10 in 3-point attempts, too, with Kuzma’s 1,306 ranking No. 6 and Kispert at No. 8 with 1,184.  Both can move into the Top 5 in those categories in 2024-25.

Kispert needs 188 more 3-pointers to pass Antawn Jamison (646) for No. 3 all-time, while Kuzma has to make 208 3-pointers in 2024-25 to pass Jamison. Last season, Kispert made a career-best 184 3-pointers while Kuzma sank 151. That likely means reaching No. 3 could be out of reach for either player, but surpassing No. 4 John Wall (539) would require 31 3s from Kispert and 81 3s from Kuzma (both of which seem highly attainable).

Along the way, Kispert and Kuzma would pass No. 6 Otto Porter Jr. (488), No. 5 Chris Whitney (489), No. 4 Wall and No. 3 Jamison (should they both have career seasons from 3-point range).

In terms of attempts, neither player has been bashful from deep as Kispert attempted 480 3-pointers and Kuzma had 450 attempts. Kuzma is 496 attempts from passing Jamison (1,801) for No. 3 and  Kispert is 480 attempts from passing Wall (1,663) for No. 5.
