CAA Sports promotes Alexa Cook and Rob DeAngelis to new leadership roles

CAA is doubling down on its commitment to sports by promoting two key executives to leadership positions.

Alexa Cook has been named global co-head of real estate sales for CAA Sports, while Rob DeAngelis has been named chief revenue officer for CAA Sports.

In her new role, Cook will work alongside Rob Slocum, who was named global co-head of real estate sales for CAA Sports in 2021. Together, Cook and Slocum will lead the agency’s real estate sales team, working on behalf of clients including Formula 1, Oracle Red Bull Racing, LA Clippers, Riot Games, the Premier League and USTA.

DeAngelis, who previously held Cook’s new position alongside Slocum, will now be responsible for revenue generation across all 19 CAA Sports divisions, including Real Estate Sales, CAA ICON, Brand Consulting and CAA Evolution.

He is a creative thinker whose innovative approach and tenacity have enabled him to bring pioneering non-domestic partners to the sports marketing landscape. Rob’s relationships are second to none and we are excited for him to create unique revenue opportunities for clients across all areas of CAA Sports.”

Cook joined CAA Sports in 2010 as an assistant before being accepted into CAA’s agent trainee program in 2011 and promoted to executive in 2013. In 2020, Cook was instrumental in the creation of the Thunder Fellows Program, an initiative designed in partnership with the Oklahoma City Thunder to create new opportunities in the sports, technology and entertainment industries for Black students in the Tulsa area.

DeAngelis joined CAA Sports in 2010 from Van Wagner Communications, where he served as general manager of the sports group. DeAngelis joined Van Wagner in 2002. Both Cook and DeAngelis were recognized in Sports Business Journal’s “Forty Under 40” award, which recognizes the best young talent in the sports business.

Olivia Montella and Francesca Verbini, appointed global co-heads of Property Solutions in January 2023, round out the leadership of CAA Sports Property Sales. Montella and Verbini work closely with Slocum and Cook, executing partnerships and creative strategies on behalf of CAA Sports real estate sales clients worldwide, with Montella based in New York and Verbini in London.
