How much money did Stephen from Love Is Blind owe Monica?

It’s been a dramatic month in the world of reality TV. From the beginning Married at First Sight, UK to the seventh (!) season of Love is blind When we land on Netflix, it’s safe to say we’ve really sat down for tea. One of the biggest bombshell events of all has taken place between Stephen and Monica – but how much did he actually send her after their split?

If you watched Love is blind (the series is published weekly), you were probably shocked when the relationship between Monica, a 37-year-old sales manager, and 34-year-old plumber Stephen imploded.

Although they agreed on everything from politics to personalities in the pods and their engagement seemed to be going well, they hit a rough patch on their honeymoon that only continued into their relationship in Washington. After Monica claimed Stephen wasn’t trying hard enough and he expressed concerns about their future, Monica discovered “disgusting” and “sexually explicit” messages from Stephen to another woman on his phone.

Stephen apologized for his behavior and said she was “right” to be disappointed and upset with him, before saying he had “made a completely stupid mistake when he was drunk”.

When it was clear that their relationship was over, Monica insisted that Stephen use Venmo (an instant payment method) to wire her the money he owed her. It was both iconic and extremely cheeky and fans loved it.

And now Stephen has revealed exactly how much he paid her in an Instagram story.
“How much do you think I owed her?” he wrote in a post alongside a poll that gave followers the chance to guess the amount.

When a follower estimated $500 (approximately £384), Stephen said it was “closer than most” before sharing another slide explaining that the amount was more than $200, but less than was $600. He then insisted he would always pay Monica back, writing: “I always pay what I owe. Even if it is the last amount in my bank account while I am already unemployed.”

So that’s it.

Love is Blind is now streaming on Netflix. The final episode will air next Wednesday, October 23rd.
