Today it is windy and colder, the nights will remain cool

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) – We’re giving you the FIRST warning today of the coldest afternoon since March. Combined with the colder temperatures, you can expect these nights to be chilly Thursday and Friday morning.

TODAY

The cold front moves through the Carolinas this morning, bringing a few more clouds and a brisk wind throughout the day.

This cold front will maintain cloud cover as temperatures start in the 50s in most locations this morning. As we head out mid-morning, the cold front will push off the coast. This will bring the return of the sun but the winds will remain cool.

This afternoon it will be cool and the sun will return. Highs today will climb into the upper 50s to lower 60s. Factoring in winds gusting up to 20-25 mph today, it will feel even colder than the actual temperature. Don’t forget to leave the jacket at home today!

There will be clouds early and a cold front moving through the area. Winds will be breezy and sunny in the lower 60s. Expect a colder day.(WMBF)

COOL NIGHTS, COOL DAYS

Our coldest nights of the week are coming as clear skies behind the front ensure temperatures inland will fall into the 30s on both Thursday and Friday mornings. As you approach the beaches, temperatures are still cool, hovering in the low 40s every morning.

Expect the coldest nights tonight and Thursday night with temperatures around 30°C...

Highs will remain cool on Thursday, but we won’t see as much wind as we did on Wednesday. That should make the afternoon a little more pleasant for outdoor plans as highs reach the lower 60s. On Friday we expect highs in the upper 60s with mostly sunny skies.

Thursday will remain cool, but less wind is expected. We will gradually warm up by Friday.

Highs over the weekend will be in the low to mid 70s.
