Trib HSSN Pennsylvania high school football rankings for October 15, 2024

Elite teams across the state in high school football flexed their muscles and flirted with perfection for the second year in a row.

Last week’s Trib HSSN ranked teams were a combined 29-1, with the only loss coming in a battle of top-ranked teams in District 12 when Class 6A No. 1 LaSalle College beat top-ranked 4A Monsignor Bonner-Archbishop Prendergast defeated.

The teams in the top five not only keep winning in October, they actually win large.

The combined final score of the 29 ranked teams that won last week was 1,368-249, an average score of 47-8.

Monsignor Bonner-Archbishop Prendergast remains atop the 4A despite falling to Class 6A No. 1 in Week 7. 1 LaSalle College lost.

The other top teams remain unchanged: Bishop McDevitt in 5A, Northwestern Lehigh in 3A, Troy in 2A and Bishop Guilfoyle in A.

Will the top 5 teams continue to rock in October?

There’s another head-to-head matchup in Week 8 as No. 2 Aliquippa faces No. 4 Montour in a WPIAL Class 4A showdown on Friday.

Here are the latest Trib HSSN rankings in each of the six classifications. Teams are listed with overall record, last week’s ranking and district.

Class 6A

1. LaSalle College (8-0) (1) (D-12): The Explorers defeated 4A No. 1 Monsignor Bonner-Archbishop Prendergast 35-13 in Week 7. They host Father Judge on Saturday.

2. St. Joseph’s Prep (4-2) (2) (D-12): The reigning PIAA 6A champion Hawks defeated Cardinal O’Hara 35-14 in Week 7. They host 5A No. 5 Roman Catholic on Saturday.

3. Imhotep Charter (7-1) (3) (D-12): The defending PIAA 5A champion Panthers defeated Martin Luther King 50-0 in Week 7. On Saturday they visit Simon Gratz.

4. Manheim Township (8-0) (4) (D-3): The Blue Streaks defeated Reading 54-0 in Week 7. They host Penn Manor on Friday.

5. Central Catholic (6-2) (5) (D-7): The Vikings defeated Norwin 59-14 in Week 7. They host Seneca Valley on Trib HSSN on Friday.

1. Bishop McDevitt (7-1) (1) (D-3): The Crusaders defeated Central Dauphin 28-10 in Week 7. They host Central Dauphin East on Friday.

2. Chester (7-1) (2) (D-1): The Clippers defeated Interboro 64-0 in Week 7. They visit Penn Wood on Friday.

3. Upper St. Clair (8-0) (3) (D-7): The Panthers defeated Bethel Park in Week 7, 14-10. They host Moon on Friday.

4. Strath Haven (8-0) (4) (D-1): The Panthers defeated Harriton 62-0 in Week 7. On Saturday they visit Lower Merion.

5. Roman Catholic (6-2) (5) (D-12): The Cahillite defeated Father Judge in Week 7, 54-24. On Saturday they visit 6A No. 2 St. Joseph’s Prep.

1. Monsignor Bonner-Archbishop Prendergast (5-1) (1) (D-12): The Friars lost 35-13 in Week 7 to 6A No. 1 LaSalle College. They visit Cardinal O’Hara on Friday.

2. Aliquippa (5-1) (2) (D-7): The reigning 4A PIAA champion Quips defeated Blackhawk 48-13 in Week 7. They visit No. 4 Montour on Friday on Trib HSSN.

3. Lampeter-Strasburg (8-0) (3) (D-3): The Pioneers defeated ELCO 52-7 in Week 7. They host Twin Valley on Friday.

4. Montour (7-0) (4) (D-7): The Spartans defeated Ambridge 47-13 in Week 7. They host No. 2 Aliquippa on Trib HSSN on Friday.

5. Wyomissing (7-1) (5) (D-3): The Spartans defeated Twin Valley 34-24 in Week 7. They visit Octorara on Friday.

3. Imani Christian (8-0) (3) (D-7): The Saints defeated Deer Lakes 48-0 in Week 7. They visit Burrell on Friday.

4. Penn Cambria (8-0) (4) (D-6): The Panthers defeated Bellwood-Antis 45-6 in Week 7. On Friday they will receive Bishop McCort.

5. Sharon (7-1) (5) (D-10): The Tigers defeated Conneaut 63-7 in Week 7. They host Titusville on Friday.

4. Schuylkill Haven (7-1) (4) (D-11): The Hurricanes defeated Pine Grove 81-6 in Week 7. On Friday they are hosting Nativity BVM.

5. Cambria Heights (8-0) (5) (D-6): The Highlanders defeated Homer-Center 49-0 in Week 7. They host West Shamokin on Friday.
