Explains the viral “Hear Me Out” cake meme and TikTok trend

The Hear Me Out Cake Meme. refers to a TikTok trend in which people use a baked cake to reveal the fictional characters they are attracted to, with horrifying results.

The trend is a more interactive icebreaker for people who love sweet treats, and builds on other conversation starters about who’s trending on social media and who’s not.

What does “Listen to me” mean?

The sentence came before the cake. “Listen to me” is something people usually say on X (formerly Twitter) to start a dialogue about anything. They ask people to listen to what they have to say about something that might actually be a bad idea because they think they are right about why it isn’t.

The sentence then revolved around the question of whether someone is hot or not. The hotness being discussed should be attributed to someone unexpected. Someone who is a little strange or unbalanced and not traditionally considered attractive. People write the sentence and usually share a photo of the subject of their lust.

However, it has been noted that there are some trends that people think are “surprisingly” hot. One thing they have in common is that they are actually undeniably hot and it would be absurd to even discuss it.

Especially when it’s a man commenting on a woman. Once again, gender dynamics ruin what could have been a perfectly entertaining affair.

What does a “listen to me” cake mean?

The young people took up the sentence on TikTok and turned it into a game that they played together and presented the results online. It starts with an icing cake set in front of the camera. Then each person takes turns introducing their “Listen to Me” person and showing a printed picture of them attached to a wooden stake, which they then insert into the cake. Soon the whole cake is covered with a series of figures.

Who do people put on their “listen to me” cakes?

Since the group of people doing this trend tends to be young, many of the “Here me out” cakes feature cartoon characters, especially from Sing, Zootopiaand every other big Disney hit. Not all of them are human. In fact, many of them aren’t.

The cakes are often presented by groups as they go through the process, but sometimes they just share the aftermath of a “Here me out” cake game set to Lana Del Rey’s song “Young and Beautiful.”
